Title: Bittrex Takes the Lead in Bitcoin Cash Trading Volume
Post by: cybersofts on August 02, 2017, 02:18:57 PM
The great Bitcoin fork has just happened and things are going smoothly so far, there have been no blockchain reorganizations and no further sub forks. Currently Bitcoin Cash’s blockchain is 50 blocks behind the main chain, putting it roughly 8 hours behind. The reason for this lag is because it took miners quite a while to find the first block, some people panicked when a block couldn’t be found, but eventually one was found by ViaBTC.

Before the fork, only 3 exchanges traded BCH. Specifically, ViaBTC, HitBTC, and Kraken were the only platforms supporting the coin, with the asset trading at more than double the price on HitBTC providing an insane opportunity for arbitrage. As the fork commenced, nearly half a dozen exchanges added Bitcoin Cash trading pairs. According to Coinmarketcap, Bittrex has taken the lead with 30% trading volume.

They jumped on it before it was even ready to go. The key to this industry is knowing what's going to happen before it happens and having an option for it. That's what this site did. If you look at the emails for their highly VIP customers, you will see that they were not just ready for that option, they were prepped and ready to go depending on what option came up, in a position where they could jump on any possibility.

Very intelligent move on the part of Bittrex!

This was a huge opportunity to acquire new users to their platform - and they are doing just that.

If you look at the back end of their website a little bit, you will see you there actually had 3 temporary folders setup show that depending on what the outcome of the hard Fork was they could simply switch the names of the directories and be ready to go.

But I don't think that those users would stay long. They are just there to trade their free coins which they claim. And after the dumping this guys won't be back. They would rather stick to bitcoin if I may say.

BCH is just gambling and easy money on short term... I will stick to BTC and ETH - great for new ICO's

I was lucky enough to be awake and caught the pairs of bittrex and bitfinex early and dumped my btc for more bcc/bch to ride this pump, totally paid off :). The volume and speed of the books was absolutely insane and suspenseful on this pump on bittrex.

How many of you have already claimed your bitcoin cash?  I am kind of sitting on the sidelines just seeing what develops and will hold both for the long haul if possible.

I don't quite get why anyone who is holding bitcoin wouldn't want their bitcoin cash.  I mean if both chains hang in there for the long haul, aren't people that don't support bitcoin cash essentially just turning away free money?

For instance if you have 10BTC in a hardware wallet, who in their right mind wouldn't claim their 10 BCH?   I am reading some places where people are taking a stance against it...while I get not wanting two different currencies, but since we are past that point I don't understand how you would turn down the option at this point.

Although Bitcoin Cash is just gambling but we can't negate this airdrop helps most trader holding Bitcoin in August 1st receive many free money. This is a opportunity x100 only one day when the price of Bitcoin Cash in yesterday has dumped to 0.003 BTC on Bittrex after listed exchange. ;D

At the moment I'm pretty paranoid & hesitant to try & get my BCH. If/when it becomes safe for a non techie expert to get their BCH I'm going to want mine.

I think I know how to get them but going to wait until the other chain is running a lot better before dumping.

Regardless, Bittrex is showing the BCC/BCH wallet is "under maintenance".

I tried to claim mine from Trezor and transfer to Bittrex but cant because of the wallet status.

Others having this problem or am I doing something wrong?

I feel exactly the same way as you do and I don't want to do something wrong.   I am not in a rush to dump the bitcoin cash either.  I am also a non-techie...I have been using bitcoin for years but don't have the slightest idea about coding or cryptography or anything like that.  Reading an error log is like a foreign language to me, so that is why I am waiting too.

But I definitely have seen people saying that they are not going to support bitcoin cash....but I can't wrap my mind around people turning down what is essentially free money

Were you able to successfully claim your BCH from trezor?   They said they were having problems with their backend server so they shut it down temporarily.  They said all your BCH would be safe.

If you  were successful in getting your BCH from trezor's web wallet, was it easy?   Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread, but was looking for feedback on people who claimed from trezor.

From what I read, Trezor is having problems with the BCH wallet but they have a how to guide on claiming it and sending it to another BCH wallet.
I've gotten through all the steps, but can't transfer it to Bittrex cause the wallet is under maintenance.

Bittrex decided well to adopt Bitcoin cash. The volume trade of Bittrex is increasing in the last few months. While POLONIEX no longer adds a crypto for some time.

Of course, these individuals will drop their free BCC and again return to bitcoin. Therefore, over time, BCC support will fall and according to the forecast will be about ten percent of the bitcoin rate.

If you were able to get the coins when the trading stared then you are really lucky ,like everybody else i sold off my alts and moved my coins to my wallet and i am not able to trade for the day,the price rise was dramatic in bittrex and the price in kraken was having a huge difference, was watching the movements for a while and then closed the window as i am not having any coins to trade in the exchange. ;D

Ofcourse Bittrex will take the lead and it is expected as amoung the exchanges listed by the OP, only Bittrex is the biggest campaign. Poloniex has not  supported bitcoin Cash or they might as well list it late, after seeing the outcome of BCC in the first few days of its launch. After all they will not want to launch a shit coin on their exchange ;)

over than 30k btc the current volume total on bittrex now and i think that makes sense most of the traders will choose only to trustable exchange to ensure they will have not a problem during trade for BCC and bittrex is good options to do so

Bittrex has worked for years with almost no problems that I have ever seen. Yes it lags on many features and coins that sites like Polo have, however I would argue that they are (hopefully) focusing on stability, security, and all that good stuff. I have never really liked Polo, they always seemed a little sketchy to me and I personally did not like their interface. I never really understood the trollbox, I guess that is what always made it seem like a sub par exchange.
