Obviously this is asking a very biased crowd, but I am wondering where you think BTC will be valued at in 5 years?

I can't guess exactly what the price is but I believe it will increase in value way more than any other investment vehicle I have access to.

I was believing that it would hit around $5000 but as I see from fork and market cap following the fork,
it can easily reach $15000 even in 5 years.

BCC wil replace BTC as the standard Bitcoin branch. BTC value will sink sub $1000, BCC Will Head to $5000

No one can judge or predict what will be the exact price in next 5 years either it can go higher or it can go even lower then our imagination so only time will tell what will be the exact picture and price after next 5 years so without wasting time on it we should try to collect as many coins as possible.

It's evident that this year will reach 3K usd, a very confusing price where every year bitcoin go up the star ladder. My predict the next 5 years he will go to planet mars at a price of around 10K usd - 20K usd. With many rivals, he will remain the top champion in the crypto world

If i choose bitcoin price in  5 years it seems likely that i prefer to between the price of $ 1000- $ 5000. I'm sure with it because from the beginning i was close to bitcoin, the price could not be far from it. Bitcoin will remain admirable in the eyes of many people, and will be more widespread throughout the world at a price that attracts attention.

I expect the price for a BTC in 5 years to be between $10.000 and $25.000. Probably leaning more towards the $25.000 figure.

anything below $1000 is simply not going to happen unless bitcoin dies and we don't have any reason in the foreseeable future for that to happen.
and based on the growing adoption, which we are getting back to now by the way, the price will only rise. in the long term when we get back on track. my vote goes to something around $10,000. it just needs a couple more of countries to do what Japan did this year to see the real mass adoption and rocket to the moon.

POLL 1 This is will not happen unless Cryptoworld is dying or dead.

Its kinda anonymous voting .Well for i can't speculate it because bitcoin price was so unpredictable and in 5 years it is too hard to based many things already began within that years it is more realistic if we do it yearly so the prediction will be more nearly over of some amounts to be exact .

yes it could be great if we keep these poll results for next 5 years just like you said but lately growing of bitcoin seems pretty good and actually i personally expect the price always increase for every years but unfortunately the situations is not easy as i predicted but in my view there is a possibility the price at range $5000 to $25000 on that year

Bitcoin price for sure after 5 years maybe around 5000-25,000 dollars because for sure eveyear many mew investor will invest in bitcoins o the pruce will continue to increase and I want to earn more money so I can buy more bitcoin . So if you want to earn more profit invest your money now and  hold it for few years and for sure you will be happy for the result. More bitcoin more money.

This is again one of those speculations which are impossible to do, no matter what you are speculating it's just a random guess, after all, there is no one we can predict about BTC's price in 5 years. For all we know there can be another fork but this time supported by the majority of miners and BTC will vanish, drop down to pennies. Or if we are lucky who knows BTC might even cross $10,000.

DUDE I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU TO AIM HIGH! Bitcoin is very unexpected that makes it so good and trustworthy for hodling. A long term hodling. I am speculating that bitcoin price would be $50000. Because maybe in 2018, it would be 10,000 USD. Imagine that. In the next 7 years I saw an article saying that bitcoin would probably be so high. Unfortunately it didn't revealed the price. But still guys, keep on hodling.

I've put $100 hoping I will be wrong. But if some ppl at Core don't start putting their house in order and stop Blockstream in it's tracks, I believe that is what will happen.

Since 2013 the underlying value of btc (about $250 as per some smart improvement on QTM made by someone in this forum) is practically unchanged compared to the huge price rises. This thing has been running on fumes for a long time.

I think price will be well above $25000 within next 5 years and more than $100k after a decade but anything can happen in crypto world so noone can actually predict the price of bitcoin.

I am expecting $4k atleast by end of this year.

Why do people think that you can do nothing. To buy bitcoin, and never to work. It is not a magic wand. always the price to go up can't. The price will rise only when at full capacity will run the economy based on bitcoin. This is still very far away.

I wouldn't worry about it, people who deal in certainties only make themselves look ridiculous.

Not very far. Many progressive countries have already adopted bitcoin. And this means that soon the whole world will use bitcoin at the government level.
This will give a good impetus to the price increase. And I think that the price will be 5-25 thousand

I voted for 5.000 to 25.000. The most likely price for me is around ~10.000-15.000 in 5 years.

That's how I estimate the price to evolve:
1) We will reach a new all time high after Segwit is activated - I estimate about $4000-5000.
2) Then things will cool down a bit. Until October I expect a drop back to the current levels ($2000-3000) because of uncertainty related with the November Segwit2x hard fork.
3) Another strong upward move if Segwit2x is approved in nearly unanimous way (or even better: if the hard fork is posponed to 2018 and has Core support). That one could cross $5000 and go as high as $7000 in 2018.
4) We will probably see a bear market for about 1-2 years after the Segwit fever is over. That will be the time when Lightning, Sidechains and other scaling solutions will be tested. I expect that then the old ATH will be tested again ($3000), but it will not be broken, or only for a short time.
5) In ~2020 we will cross the 2018 highs again and reach $10000. Note that the volatility decreases (also in the upward moves).
6) Another bear market drives us back to the 5000-7000 area.
7) In 2022 we'll cross definitively the $10K and head for $15K.

I think that is an optimistic, but not too utopic prediction. Let's see if it happens ;)

it is hard to predict for the price that far away. there is so many variables that could make or break bitcoin like the upcoming hardforks. wishful thinking, i hope for over 25k, but i would be very satisfied if it even reach above 10k.

This is what I think my speculation of bitcoin price in 5 years would be $5000 or more. The more users its increases the demand and ofcourse the price would be skyrocket. Though its prediction only we will never know because bitcoin price is volatile and it may change anytime.

Because i can not guess bitcoin price for next 5 years, hopefully bitcoin price does not go down ..
for now in my country 1 btc can penetrate 37 million rupiah, hopefully 5 years ahead price from 1 btc can be translucent 100 million rupiah.
But I'm sure the bitcoin price will always increase and its value will exceed any investment ..

But you have a point.  I don't mean "whichever bitcoin fork is the main one in 5 years".  My measily investment is in BTC, and that is what I am interested in.  I will be really bummed if some other fork reduces BTC to rubble. (But I am encouraged by what is happening with BCC!)

Hmm it's too much or maybe it can more than that too if we are giving hand to bitcoin as well because it's up to you as well so we need to give a hand to bitcoin that bitcoin will reach that point what you have mentioned because it is easy for bitcoin to there if we give a hand to bitcoin because it is nothing in front of bitcoin because it is too much low.

In all honesty, if we take the constant increasing demand into consideration, it would actually make a lot sense for the price to at least break through the $10,000 level within 5 years. At this point the $10,000 level looks like a massive achievement/milestone, which in reality it also is currently, but at some point it will be a normal price level, just like we right now are okay about sitting above $2000. Thinking about the potential growth that we can realize in the coming years gives me goosebumps, and enough confidence to keep holding the far majority of my coins for many more years.

As stated in five years time the price surely stands above $10k. Based on the growth it has experienced till date its easily understandable how big the value moves on in the upcoming years. Maybe a little crazy I chose the bitcoin price was in the price range of 5000USD up to 25000USD. But this can be true because bitcoin has so far grown very well. I feel that the increase in bitcoin prices is quite significant compared to other digital currencies, the higher the popularity of bitcoin it will further affect the price of bitcoin as a whole. We must continue to use bitcoin to increase the bitcoin price naturally and there will be positive pressure continuously. 5 years is enough to make the bitcoin price a reality.

I would say that in 5 years since there will be another halving of the block reward we can see prices upwardrs to $10000. In fact that is probably a very conservative estimate, usually a halving is able to bring the price up by like 8x at least, like this time and 2013. Right now the price of each bitcoin is already at $3100, to get to $10000 it would only require like a threefold increase in price.

And yes, it would definitely be interesting to see this thread retrospectively.

We might be a biased crowd but honestly that does not affect the quality of our predictions. In fact most of the people out there saying that bitcoin is going to crash probably never even used bitcoin in their lifetmie.

It is magic wand as you said it is not. But it is if you invest into bitcoin then you will have a lot of power so you will need just time to give and see that the price of bitcoin that how it is going and keep safe your bitcoin into your offline wallet then you will have magic. Because that magic will increase your profit so we can say that to this process in a simple words magic process.

I do not believe any forecasts. The situation is changing every day and nobody really knows what the price will be tomorrow. In five years a lot can happen. Maybe the government will block any mention about bitcoin on the Internet.

Computer economic simulations but it at 3800 but I think it'll be a lot higher than that. The biggest changes are going to come with the supply starts to run low but that's not happening at that five year mark for another couple years after that. If you don't mind using a dry erase marker on your computer monitor then pull up the price history for a 10-year period just draw a line connecting the dots you'll see where it gets up down the road.

We can afford to be wrong on the polls but not wrong in our investment decision s.

This thread was made in early August so the OP obviously didn't know about how crazy the price would go. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but in 5 years I have to be thinking the price will be above the top option in the poll so - More than $25000
