I think the average satoshi you've get in a faucet is about 20k satoshi based on my experience. Then after gaining a small amount of satoshi you can't get it because you must reach the minimum withdrawal so it get's me tired to gain satoshis. 20k satoshis are just decimals in money but the idea about this faucets is the more you have referrals, the more you will get commissions. If you had started way back then when faucets give away whole bitcoins then you would have been rich now. Taking that fact and looking at how bitcoin price is rising, it's a potential profit. It would take time though.

If you are very efficient and plan it out $100 a month is possible, and for some people in some parts of the world that's not a bad amount of money. Added to that the potential for the coin value to increase and it's not a bad idea. Just I would say the majority of people have better ways to make money.
