Title: The Warrant, the beginning of the beginning for Bitcoin
Post by: jubalix on May 16, 2013, 04:08:12 AM
Given the warrant, and the market cap is only 1 - 1.5 Billion for BTC, it's legitimate now to say BitCoin is on the radar, and considered a sufficient enough threat to have to deal with.

Given that BTC itself has not be attacked, gives weight to the view no attack vector has been devised.

Given that there are far bigger issues in monetary values the TLA's could spend time going after, but they are going [so hard] after BTC feeders, gives some sense of proportion of  the level of concern TLA's/US GOV have towards BTC/CC's, which is out of all proportion to the market cap.

This I believe is the highest validation BTC could garner as a legitimate world currency.

The GOV and others watched the 'bubble' to 260+ and asked themselves, it did not die last time it "popped" rather it gave us glimpse into the future, where we are at now, 100$ is the new $10, $50 is the new $2. They can see it going to 1000, 10000 and beyond. If BTC becomes worth 100K a coin, people are going to work for BTC rather than the Fiat. QED gov.

I think they have panicked, and acted which in the long term will only legitimize BTC.

This is the Beginning of the Beginning for BitCoin and CC's as whole

It can't be the beginning of the beginning, because, haven't you heard, it's the beginning of the end...

Let's look at the facts:

1. MTGOX is known for fuckups.

2. MTGOX has been around for a few years now.

3. MTGOX is based in Japan outside of US government jurisdiction.

4. MTGOX has been dragging their feet on responding to the coinlab lawsuit as well as the DHS seizure of their Dwolla account.

5. MTGOX is run by amateurs (in my opinion). Meaning they could be doing a much better job than they are.

Don't worry, Citizen.

this reaction is fully within their limitations, the governments are minding their interest; Controlling underworld thugs, that is why they turned it into a regulation instead of a law.

we have nothing to worry about from the regulators... we do have to worry about the corporate interests though. The U.S has the greatest business sector in the world, they know that Bitcoin will bring more cash to their coffers. The regulations are meant for that, they've taken good care of their business sector and know that all those taxes world wide are coming their way; Taxation by business location.

The corporate interests know they have met their David, Goliath thinks they can kill it, but David's got a plan.

with 1 exaflop of computing power, the toughest encryption network ever devised, a dedicated grass roots base and the greatest workforce ever assembled, there is no chance for a direct attack, they'll be attacking the periphery.

You fools...

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/03/16/executive-order-national-defense-resources-preparedness

Obama can now have peacetime martial law, and confiscate anything he wants, anytime... and if you read through the whole order, he can confiscate ANYTHING he wants INTERNATIONALLY if he deems it a threat to national security.

we have slept to long, and it may be too late for us ALL now

Just one thing - what exactly is BitCoin?

(this incorrect caps version seems to be becoming a meme of its own)

When Obama or his successors, declares btc or any crypto-currency a threat to national security, that will be the end game or hail mary pass.  I think quite far away from that point, at least a decade if not more.

Hmm... think I might have to start my own meme (for the older programmers): bit_coin

getNumber
never_leave_a_space
and put ; at the end of every sentence, start next sentence on new line
also :: everywhere
look a white a4 page and wonder while the DOM does not work with it.
