So annoyingly JREF forum made a complete hash up with their rules and have given me a perma ban instead of a week suspension. All I need to do is sign up again to message someone there to point this out. I've tried using different computers with different names, etc, no luck. Applications fail. Maybe as they can tell it's from the same city.

I think that using a relatively small US proxy would be best (they are a US based forum) as they might know the main proxies people may try. I'm a complete n00b when it comes to finding proxies though, I really don't know where to start ... can someone point me in the right direction?

Or even better if anyone here is already a member they could just do it for me :)

Bah my uni proxy is stopping me from using others I think. I use HotSpot Shield. Though it is not so much a one time thing, the ads are annoying and it is likely tracking all the sites I go to. 

Hotspot shield is a crappy VPN, detected by any sites that want to block proxies.

What kind of weird inbred forum fails all new applications as 'not approved' ?! Over ten kind people have all tried for me, from various locations, and all have been failed by the 'admin', even though the application works the username is generated (with forum restrictions) and goes through a two day process of 'being approved'.

Any idea why they are doing this?

It seemed a perfectly open and healthy community when I joined ...

Ahhh nice catch. We must have all been tracked.

Still no one seems able to! This is weird, going to have to write a blog about their bizarre signup procedures. They even stopped a dozen or so people I know in person, so it's not a matter of connecting caches, online cookies or meta-data from new users, these people wouldn't even know my old forum name yet alone be linked to my IP address.

I can tell you how to do it through your phone/device if you're device is rooted.

How would it be any different on a rooted phone to people totally independent of me trying here?

The main reason why I am asking this is that they are the forum at the forefront of skeptical thinking and critical analysis online, in terms of user numbers. And the fact that they have taken this rather bizarre step of making it hard to sign up there makes me rather uneasy at where such a large community is heading. No open community should do this. They should take a leaf out of the book of this forum. They need more input from people to make people change their minds, they hated the idea of bitcoin when I talked about it there!

The app I would have you install requires root access. Then with that app you can mask your device, network address, etc.. It has worked with many phone apps that block you, so I would assume you could use it to get online and sign up on a simple forum as well.

shock none of u are getting ip ban releasing this info, guess the mods dont mind.  Well is good cause then they will lose people in there forum.

just restart your router, delete your cookies and history and sign up on the forum..

Done it multiple times. No luck. They are letting about 3 people sign up a day, seemingly randomly. I just hope someone here gets lucky, and can claim their 0.1 BTC reward.
