Post by: The 4ner on May 16, 2013, 07:50:59 AM
Has anyone here used the escrow service on LocalBitcoins? If yes, how was it?

I've used it a few times as a buyer. No probs.

Used a couple of times as a seller, no problems - mostly through web, and may have tried the SMS out just to check but can't remember. Helpful for newbies to the site as it obviously increases trust, but I still like face-to-face to get a good idea of whether the other party is reliable.

Thanks for the replies guys. Someone just contacted me to purchase a coin. So, yeah, I wanted to get an idea of just how many in the community have successfully used their escrow service.

Yeah, the escrow service is pretty reliable and safe I believe, I haven't heard anything bad about them.

As a BTC seller, I've found it to be good standard service. It is very quick and reliable, no issues there.
It's rare that it's not used.

They have two services.  They have an "escrow" service for online transactions, and the have a "transaction service" for face-to-face transactions (sort of a stripped down escrow).

I've never used the "escrow" service, but I've used the "transaction service" several times and never had an issue with it.
