Is my bitcoin safe? No. The way Electrum generates your seed is 100% safe and no one other than you will be able to see it.Is it possible electerum sends seeds to a certain server for the DeveloperS? You also shouldn't "create a seed" by your own. This is called a "brain wallet" and it can be way dangerous than a normal one generated by the software. Post by: kolloh on August 07, 2017, 01:52:53 AM Yep, the seed is safe within Electrum so you don't need to worry about that. Just be sure that you encrypt your wallet with a password so it isn't stored in plaintext on the computer.
For the best level of security, a hardware wallet used with Electrum is your best option. The seed isn't visible to Electrum in this case as it is stored on the hardware device. Title: Re: Electrum knows my seeds? Post by: Coin-Keeper on August 07, 2017, 07:06:57 PM Great answer above this post. BTW - If you have had an Electrum wallet with unencrypted SEED online for 3 months I would suggest a new wallet. It might be that your coin count is somewhat low and an adversary could just wait until you place a sizeable coin count on the "ledgers". Sounds a little "tin foil hat-ish" but I have seen some crap over the years. I don't like any wallet with keys online (my take on all this), and prefer either a cold wallet two computer approach or a hardware wallet. BTC is over 3K now!
