Title: Strongcoin - Bitcoin stolen Post by: aussie_striker on May 16, 2013, 11:10:04 AM Most know about the problem Stroncoin had about a month ago with private keys being stolen. Members were told to move their bitcoin and/or ensure their passwords were good. Well my password said it was about 4 years to crack and I think I changed it anyway but today logging in I found my account was cleaned out 4 days ago. 5.48134135 BTC gone. It might not seem like much to some people on here but that was all I had.
Not impressed but I guess there is nothing that can be done about it. That is one of the bad things about bitcoin, if you get ripped off there is no way of getting your bitcoin back. Unfortunately that also makes it good for the hackers as they know they cannot be caught. If this service is supposed to provide a safe place for storage, and they get hacked due to a security failure, doesnt this provide grounds for a legal case?
Title: Re: Strongcoin - Bitcoin stolen Post by: bL4nkcode on December 31, 2017, 01:43:15 AM There are so many issues encountered using strongcoin service lately, and I wonder how you get manage to store such amount on that wallet while you can even buy a hardware wallet for your coin, but now its gone then its too late.
Anyway is there any notification when sending and receiving on that wallet? Or even using 2FA? Or notification when logging in? Its really strange :-\ but I will not expect more from an unsecured wallet. |
