Title: 25 Asics power set up
Post by: nimus on August 08, 2017, 02:15:32 PM
HI all

i am receiving 25 asics in end of october and i have a big power set up problem
if someone of you can give me some help i will really apreciate it
here is the problem :
i have a 380 V installation ( 3 phases ) and i am living in France , my total power limit it's 36KVA and 60 amp per phase
how do i have to set up my installation in order to be ok
i have to set up 25 sockets 220 V each and each socket has to support 1200 W
how do i have to set up my electric board in term of breaker ( how many amp each breaker has to support ) and how do i equilibrate my phases
thanks again for any help given as i am really lost for the moment

Well I'd first suggest you get in touch with someone more versed in electrical hookups if you're unsure.  However, it appears that you have plenty of power for the number of units you want to run.  I'd setup duplex outlets on a 15A or 20A breaker each so you can run 2 miners on each duplex (2400W), setup 5 breakers/duplex outlets per phase pair, run 8 on two of them and 9 on the third for your 25 units running balanced as close as possible.  And, of course, wire everything appropriately for the amps/power involved.
See, get some help, I would!

Sounds like you need to consult with an electrician.

Thanks for your help
So far after investigation it seems that I can plug 5 asics
On 1 breaker 20 amps as I am with 380 v tri phase and each breaker can support more than 7000 W
So I will need 5 breaker 20 amps and in each breaker
Will be 5 asics connected
It will take 100 amps ( to divide on 3 phases )from my 180 total
Amps
Hope I am not wrong
Again if someone don t agree with my calculation
I am focus to any suggestions

Main problem you have is that you are running 380V which is Europe's version of 480V here in the US.

Either case that needs to be stepped down preferably with a single large transformer to the 208-240VAC single-phase power the miners PSU's use. I am not aware of ANY that will accept 380-400v input. If possible size it to supply the full main panel capacity. The output from that is then fed to a 220V breaker panel for circuit distribution.

The only other route is to use smaller individual transformers fed from each 380V circuit you have.

If it's 380V phase to phase, it would be 220V phase to neutral.

^^ If the incoming is wye and has a neutral that is. Many countries having incoming as delta and so no neutral. No idea what France uses for their grid.
