Fair warning, the amortization period depends on your electricity price (and other operating costs) and how much you spend to get your hands on a miner (cost of the miner + shipping + taxes, etc.). It also depends on the network itself, meaning that if more people are mining than you expected, you'll get a worse return. As for the software, most hardware already have it setup within. It's not really an issue nowadays. You should really worry about the hardware part. Be careful about what you pick and make sure it's tailored to your situation. As jobs such as preparation of machinery, hardware, software ... they have assembled, now I just rent their drills to exploit.
