BTC client software set to reject SegWit2x nodes

The revision, scheduled to take effect on August 21, is intended to make Bitcoin transactions more scalable and faster. After that point, Bitcoin miners will begin rejecting blocks that fail to support the change.

Core never had the intention of supporting SegWit2x.
Now I couldn't entirely understand why they made this change, but from what I read at the original commit it has something to do with btc1 nodes connecting to Core nodes and getting banned, which is what happened with BCH nodes.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. A measly 2MB upgrade is nothing compared to what a third split, of whose support is much larger compared to BCH, will bring.

Looks like forking becomes a habit.

I'm quite okay with this. The last one was fantastic!

Would there be another split in case this plan would materialize? I apologize for being a non-technical person but I am concerned about this another split possibility. Well, will this coming split not affect the credibility of Bitcoin? I have no problem with BitcoinCash (BCH) practically because I have already sold my BCH share in Bittrex. The way I am seeing it, the Bitcoin community is really a very divided group of people and this can somehow affect the value of Bitcoin except if the market would just ignore this.

Ya there are speculations that has a great chance to be true and from what i read it will be named bitcoin core. So Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash then the next split if possible Bitcoin core. There are difinitely i think teams that manages these things and probably miners too have a high impact on the nodes. Maybe for us local traders its good because another free altcoin is coming but there is a bigger picture to whats gonna happen next.

People can fork has much as they want, we surely appreciate the free money, that request just separates the networks, there's no need for them to be connected, it's a waste of resources.

I don't think that Core will resist the implementation of SegWit2x anymore. As they might have learnt from the experience of BCH, anything against the general interest of the Bitcoin users is bound to fail. The Core should agree with the proposed block size changes, or they can become obsolete in the crypto-currency history.

I am optimistic about the future of bitcoin. Future changes will benefit all users of bitcoin. I'm sure that after the cash bitcoin miners will not resist. They must understand that it is not in their interest. The problems with payments has long needed to be addressed.

Hopefully it goes smoothly as the one that happened 1st August and just helps with the problems as slow transactions and high fees in transactions.  And hopefully a new coin to give us a few free coins again :D

Another core will only going to pump bitcoin further just like the recent one did ;D

It is easy to understand why the miners favor a smaller block size. That means higher fees for them. But they seems to be extremely short-sighted. If the fee remains high, then users will shift to some other coin, and in the end the miners will lose out.

I wouldn't be sad at all with another fork if the pattern follows(fork worth close to 0.1 BTC + 20% rise days after the fork)

Dude, miners favor control over the network, specially big miners, big blocks helps with that.

Bitcoin never going to scale onchain like it is today, second layer needs to be built and will enable immediate transactions and much larger transaction capacity, not the 8x increase Bitcoin Cash offers, but several orders of magnitude increase.

the "fork" is scheduled for 3+ months from now in November. your title is a bit misleading. and so far we don't know what the future holds, for all we know from tomorrow everyone with 1 GHS is going to start a new fork and start calling it "bitcoin something" because it is the new trend these days :D

... and we get richer every time they do it when we dump on their heads.

Every time they split, we get new coins to sell and then buy "Bitcoin original" - so why would we be bothered by that.  ???

The developers are fighting for control, because they want to take the credit when this thing goes to the Moon. I see this as

a purification process. Every time Bitcoin split, we get rid of a group of people who wants to sabotage Bitcoin.  ;)

This is literally my take on the situation of forks. Forks after forks and we keep getting more money to our balances. This is literally becoming a habit as mentioned above by someone else, which will clearly not help do anything but waste more resource.

Frequent hard fork and new clone coins of bitcoin coming is not good for the bitcoin community as a whole.It would affect the reputation of bitcoin which may in turn make bitcoin investors to lose their trust in such a progressive coin.Not even satoshi would have thought that some group of miners would try frequently to create new clones of bitcoin by hard fork.Shame to these miner groups who just enjoyed the benefits from bitcoin and still try to damage bitcoin progress by such acts.What a ungrateful people they are?

It will double my bitcoin stash even if the rate will be 1/10 for the failclone. Or should I say failcash?


Sorry but nowadays everyone is a CEO of something ,whenever I hear those titles i have a "meh" feeling.


I don't know what they have learned but all bitcoin owners have learned that split equals money.Free money.
And people will do a lot of stupid things for this idea of topping your account and mattresses with dollars bills.

Miners already broke the agreement by creating altcoin bcash, so no more bigblock forks
