Title: Which server PSUs would you like to mount in your 4U Rosewill case?
Post by: Spotswood on August 09, 2017, 09:47:11 PM
I'm thinking about offering some adapters to allow you to mount a server PSU in a Rosewill 4U case.

Which PSU models would you like to see supported first?

I think the best bet is the HP 1,500.  The Delta is too tall when on its side to fit the case, and on its side it is too wide to sit next to a full motherboard.  But I can see getting the HP and a regular EVGA power supply to fit.

Hi, most server PSUs are conform to 1U standard height. I suggest an adjustable width bracket that would be able to adapt to most 1U server PSUs.

Dual PSU bracket would be amazing. I'd really like to be able to stack two server PSUs in this chassis.

Are you thinking a 1515 style drop-in bracket, or sheet metal ?

Can anyone share the dimensions of the HP 1200/1500W PSU's and the breakout boards please.

I don't have any on hand, and I'm trying to work out if you can fit 2 of them where the ATX PSU goes in these 4U cases :)
They could be either side by side or stacked on top of each other.

I can get the exact dimensions tomorrow.  You'll have to space them apart if you stack them to give clearance for the cables on the bottom HP PSU.  Maybe you could reuse one of the server fan/hd cages.

Flip them sideways and then rotate them so the breakout boards are back to back.

That would be awesome if you could :D

I'm not too worried about the width and height, it's all about the depth because fitting 1080 ti's and then a row of fans already takes up a large part of the case.

Here's a picture of how cramped things get for reference...

Prototype mount for DPS2000BB PSU leverages the 80mm fans for cooling and mounting.   8)

There is ~65mm between where the motherboard would be and the bottom of the mount.
