Swarm city basically works on enabling p2p commerce - peer to peer service offering, matchmaking and the payment. (like uber, airbnb, or basically anything - perhaps to find a someone to walk your dog or whatever - anything!)

I think this could easily go x10 with another bullrun if it happens, or well i believe sooner or later there will be a pump. If this actually gets adopted and used, looking at it from a  long term perspective, then this would yield x1000 or more, (ofc this is very low probability).

This is one of the projects that hasn't caught the eyes of the crowd yet, and it will happen sooner or later most likely. It doesn't really have any competition and when you think about it, it truly has an enormous potential.

The biggest problem i see is the money they lost due to parity exploit, but irregardless they said they still have around half a million worth of tokens and the project will be developed and finished as planned.


Anyways i am taking my chances there because i think it's worth it as the returns could be very high, the project seems nice and the idea is really great, not many people know about it, because once they do, it's already too late to make good money off of it.

Why are you talking up this project and then dismissing it at the same time? :) I mean... you say that you think there's a very low probability of it getting adopted and used. I know it is impossible for the moment for any new alt to gain the acceptance of Bitcoin. But if you find a unique community and they are using the alt for its purposes, sometimes that is all you need.

Well it would take years for this to get actually adopted, and a week time is a lot for cryptocurrency markets - imagine what will happen in years... What i am telling you is, that i believe it could go x10 within the next few months, just by the speculators. Then if it gets adapted, then current investors would have been millionaires.

There are many project, for like p2p gambling, prediction markets and such like Augur for example and they are worth couple of hundreds of millions of $. What people don't realize is, that most of these projects will fail and will not get the user adaption that is expected. Either the model will not work, or someone else will hop in, make it work better and take the cake.

Not many. But this is a good thing. When everybody and their mom buys ethereum, it's already too late to get good returns(x10, x100, x1000).

If it gets adopted and used, it's marketcap would be worth billions, possibly dozens of billions of $. That would be x100, x1000 or even higher returns.

And it would take years before that. In the meantime, new bubbles will form and it could go x10 without actually launching yet in the upcoming months.

It might be good asset but that exploit you talked about is enough reason to hold me back. Bad hack news always kill my mood when going into this kind of projects. But I will follow thank you.

Can anyone verify this or have more about who's going to assist there representing SWT?

Funny enough, I had SWT for a long time, it went up a lot pre-release of their new website and portal.

Then price decreased on opening of the portal and eventually decreased massively due to the parity hack.

I thought the project was good, I though the team was committed, but this was the only coin i ever sold at a loss because being hacked to me proves a somewhat incompetent management.

I know it is not their fault, I know parity hack was unforeseen and therefore difficult to protect against, BUT they lost 40k ETH of investor money, they should have taken measures to protect the money and they didn't. They lost me as investor, will not go in again, but wish them all the best and hope they are successful.

They were using Parity multisig wallet which was a standard. Projects like BAT, ICONOMI, and dozens of others WERE ALL using the same way of storing their Ether!

It is just that Swarm City along with 2 others were unlucky that the hacker chose them. The whitehat hackers were faster and secured ICONOMIs funds for example. They were all using Parity and they could have all lost money(and they did), but the good guys returned the money to the owners. The creator of Ethereums coding language Solidity, created parity multisig contract code.

So yeah, Swarm City is last to blame, really they couldn't have done anything better. But they were unfortunate and it is what it is.

As far as the price goes, yeah i was stupid enough to buy some at the launch at 5.8$. Regardless as it dropped after the hack i continued to stock up, because i think it could go x5 to around 10$, as the project could be really good. Anyways, glad to hear some oppinions.

It looks like an awsome idea, having that p2p marketplace of different services. Quite a shame that it is not that widely known or promoted. But i do agree, that it could be a possible sleeping giant.

Yeah well IF this gets adopted then it would go more than x100, because x100 would net it "only 1.5Billion" and for something globaly used, the market cap could have been 50Billion.

Ofcourse it's a question whether the technology would get adopted or not. But even if it doesn't, this has easily potential to go, say to a 100M$ marketcap, where i actually think it should be as well, i mean the project really seems nice.

P2p ecommerce has a lot of competitors. I doubt this will hold up.

Can you give some examples? I know there are p2p markets, eg. augur and stox, but this is somethign completely different.

Some price momentum right now, but checking on Twitter i could see some pump groups seem to be targeting SWT, so now is not a good time to buy probably.
