Isn't that illegal what would happen if I got caught?

I had a friend who once married a chick he knew as a friend so she could get citizenship.

I teased him about it forever. He did it for free and never even got any nookie out of the deal.

If I remember correctly, they had to stay in contact for like 5 years. Their mail had to go to the same address. I think the last year they had to live together.

If 5-10k is worth dealing with it for 5 years, then go for it.

I wasn't going to do it either way. I'd rather stay out of trouble.

5-10k for marriage? hell no. i can earn that amount in just 3 months but marrying someone you love is a lifetime imprisonment.

its an illegal act, but still thousands of US, Canadian, AUS, NZ and EU citizen are part of this industry.

Not sure about legality, but 10k doesn't seem to be that much for 5-year trouble, particularly if you don't know the person you're marrying and her character quirks, bad habits...

Don't do it, it's super illegal

As others have plainly pointed out, its illegal.
But even if it were legal and they offered 100k, it would still not be worth the potential emotional trauma.

A friend of a friend married a Russian in London for £250 and a KGB raincoat. I still have the coat. They never met again and got divorced a while after. This was a long time ago though. They seem to be far stricter now and they have the internet to snoop at you.

I'd be more worried about her trying to drain you of your finances during the divorce rather than The Man catching you. And are they providing the back story and evidence you're a couple? It's not just a case of rocking up, getting hitched and her waltzing off with her green card. They take a lot of convincing.

I would not do it if i were you because its illegal and when the divorce is going to happen she might go after your money and home etc and its also for such a long time that you can easily earn it any other way.

Don't do it, aside from the fact that it is NOT legal:

Imagine someday you meet that special person who you really want to marry and spend your whole life with...and she find's out about (1) -you've been married before and (2) - the reason you married before (for $$$)...and she drops you like a ton of bricks

They are pretty good at catching fake couples. If you end up living like roommates for awhile and get to know her, it might pass as a real marriage. If they can prove that it was a pure sham marriage, there may be criminal penalties.

Have your deals off phone calls and chats so he/she doesn't have a leverage to blackmail you.
Go ahead with the deal, extra 10k wouldn't be bad, also people fall in love mysteriously.
You guys might end up falling in love and having beautiful kids.
Invest the more in altcoins and become millionaire.

Well you get the money and some asian booty. I don't see any problem with that. I don't know how they will actually find out it's arranged, I mean they won't spy your home, except NSA...

This has to be a joke or a prank, I've never heard of a market for this but it sounds pretty sketchy just for a green card I suppose.

I heard about a formed foundation for Filipino orphans that were involved on this issue.

Marrying a person is a big decision that you will make, and you will bring it for the rest of your lives especially here in our country because divorce if not acceptable here. But once you are not in love with a person don't marry! If you really want to get rich, do it on your own and not by marrying a person that you don't know/love at all. I think that will be a bad decision that you will make.
