WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE TOP 3 COINS THIS YEAR?

It's pretty hard to say as of now. What I'm only kinda sure of is bitcoin will still be number 1 for this year, or atleast on top 3 via coinmarketcap, since personally I think it's possible for bitcoin to be overtaken by maybe a better cryptocurrency in the future. The competitive spot would be number 2 or number 3, whereas I think the cryptocurrencies that would be fighting for that spot would be Bitcoin Cash(BCC/BCH), Monero(XMR), Ethereum(ETH), Litecoin(LTC), Dash(DASH), and IOTA. Yes. IOTA. Who knows though, a brand new cryptocurrency that isn't currently invented yet will arise maybe a year later that could steal one of the top 3 spots.

The king will remain the king at its first place, the bitcoin. The second and third place will be the competitive ones and according to me ETH will remain at the second position as its increasing at a good speed and may remain at the second position for a long term. The third place is the most unpredictable one and nobody knows who will be at the third place. According to me the third place can be taken by BitcoinCash or Ripple or OMG. OMG is gaining a huge crowd nowadays and going high quickly.

Bitcoin of course will retain the #1 spot.
Next will almost certainly be Ethereum, given how beneficial it is to the industry.
Finally, Litecoin will be 3rd given that it is still going strong and considered the "silver" of crypto.

Definitely Bitcoin is in the first place, And no one coin take this place.The second place is for Ethereum and no once can bid this place also. But i cant say about third place,its to hard to say. There are a lot of crypto whose are potential in my eyes. Bitcoin cash although take place in 3rd place but it cant stay here.This place will be taken by another coin sooner.

Bitcoins always be number one and be difficult to be replaced by other altcoins until today
Ethereum will always be number two even ethereum can be replaced by bitcoins cash
Ripple always be number three because the Banks will adopt XRP for remitance payment

Fungibility is becoming a major issue. And I think if BTC-e relaunches, it'll be a big test for non-private cryptocurrencies. Will exchanges start freezing accounts with funds linked to BTC-e?

Privacy coins like XMR and Zcash could see their day in the sun, in that case...

Btc and eth would most likely stay at 1 and 2 though nbr 3 would be contested steadily by a couple of alts with the addition of bcc. It's easy for us i think this year to give the top two spots to the holders last year and the third, probably betweem litecoin or bitcoin cash if it gets more acceptance, which it probably will in a couple of months

No one has mentioned NEO yet. NEO has the ability to take the 2nd spot no questions asked. NEO is like ethereum but programmers have even more ability to control what language they program their functions with this NEO cryptocurrency. For instance not only solidity, serpent and LLL like ethereum but also C+, java and more. It opens up lower entry points for programmers to get into using NEO has their platform of choice where as ethereum has a higher entry point. The current team at this company just held their conference at microsoft headquarters in Beijing sometime in June so they have some force behind them. In the last week alone it has jumped from $7 to $41 completely on speculation. This coin will rise to $100 or more and that is only the beginning. Yesterday I personally saw the market cap go to 2 billion dollars and just a week and a half ago it was only $7 a share.

Bitcoin, Bitcoin and bitcoin that will be the top 3 coins not just thisnyear but for years to come more  :)

On my list.

First is bitcoin. It's very obvious and we already reach it's new all time high as we hit $3700 hours ago and still going up. We all know what's the capability of bitcoin. The community, the massive adoption. Many countries are supporting this technology. Many believes that it can go up to $10000 a piece over time(including me).

Second is Ethereum. This is one of the most popular token next to Bitcoin. Has a huge community, and now ethereum market is getting bigger and bigger. Many believes that it could be the next big thing and will replace bitcoin as the new king of cryptoland. For now, i will just put it to second place.

And the third one is IOTA. From top 20 to top 7 at coinmarketcap. Reaching almost $2 billions of marketcap. It amaze me. In just short period of time. Look at it's achievement. Luckily i bought some miotas when the price is cheaper. Also IOTA is the biggest community on slack. This one is promising.

BTC and ETH will remain #1 and #2 respectively. #3 will be heavily contested. Let's look at our candidates within the current top 10:


XRP -- Should have never come as far as #3 in the first place due to its centralized issuance, so I doubt it will be able to hold its spot.

BCH -- Will remain strong, but is basically BTC with much less support, so won't reach #3 for its lack of differentiation.

NEM -- I'll be honest, I still have no idea what they are about.

LTC -- Now that the Segwit hype-cycle has come to an end, LTC will probably not have enough differentiation to claw its way up to #3.

IOTA -- Interesting concept, but I don't see IoT taking off any time soon. If anything it seems like the hype has subsided.

NEO -- Their aim to support multiple programming languages for smart contracts looks way too ambitious to be honest.

DASH -- Looked promising, but I'm not sure whether they can keep up.

ETC -- What ETH was meant to be, but will probably starve due to lack of support.


So what's left? The Segwit2x hardfork. Should a hardfork occur, 2x will likely have more support than BCH and thus could stick around at #3. We'll have an Ethereum sandwich with Bitcoin as buns.

For me the most trusted coins this year are : Monero, Ethereum and obvious one Bitcoin. Monero is getting stability day by day and I’m loving the way its mining difficulty is. I can easily mine it as compared to other coins and yet have profits with it due to its optimum prices. Other coins either lack the potential to mine or price is not worth it. Rest coins that is Ethereum and bitcoin are always great to invest as they are gaining the price upto 100% each month. Just love it to do that.

The first two are probably not going to get displaced within this year, but very possibly in the coming years as new useful coins pop up.

For #3, I think Ripple may end the year taking the #3 spot, and drop down next year.  BCH is hanging around but I'd expect it to be treated similarly to ETC and lose popularity over time.

You want to know top 3 coin this year . you don't tell for short time or long time  It's so heart I think ETH best all time . then I select waves and next.

For me, BTC, ETH and LTC will be the TOP 3 coins

Its too early to decide, there are lots of ongoing projects that looks good, there will be some changes after including it on an exchange, new coins might affect the others base on the impact on its demand. (It only applies at third place though.) Btc and Eth will still be at top of their competition whos third is too early to consider.

Bitcoin ofcourse will be on top of the ranking list. For the 2nd it will be Ethereum and 3rd positions is tough to predict, let the Q4 come and then it can be possible.
But as per the current market capitalization XRP, BCH and NEM seems to have chances of taking 3rd place. I would like to see BCH or NEM, NEM being similar to ethereum and a good one, I see chances of it.

It depends on what you are referring to. If you mean top 3 in price per coin, then it could be Bitcoin, Etherium, and either Dash or Zcash.  If you mean what 3 coins will make the best percentage increase this year it could be some of the lower priced coins. In fact, I'm starting to invest more in some of the cheaper coins that have good characteristics and good ratings. I think they could have big gains going forward.

Top 3 coins in terms of what? If price then it's not the thing here is because the important is their established volume.

It's really hard to speculate what coins will makes it impression in terms of volume as everything can be done just by hype without any speculations or basis. If you are asking this question just to have an idea on what coin you will invest then just do your own research.

No 1 is Bitcoin and always remain as no 1 as it has no competitor
No 2nd position in my opinion is Ethereum because it is the 2nd most used coin after the Bitcoin
No 3 position have many competitor . But i think Neo coin will be ranked 3 this year . This coin is improving so well ...
So that was my little opinion ....Lets see whats happened at the end of the year ..

The top 1 ofcoarse is bitcoin and for sure it will increase more so the bitcoin will still king in the next few years. And my second top 2 is waves coin and this coin will increase more because many investor will invest to the waves. And my top 3 as of now is ethereum because this coin will increase more in the next few months and for sure it will become 100p dollars .

There are many coins that are very aggressive and stable which can be considered as top 3 coins this. Well I think of course Bitcoin still on top, second is Eth,  then 3rd is Waves. This was just my perception and opinion only. ;)

Interesting take. In that case, I'm curious... do you think that the Segwit2x fork will cause a genuine split? If Bitcoin users supported one of the networks (BTC, BCC or Segwit2x) over the others, wouldn't this damage the network value of each coin? It seems like these forks have created value out of thin air, but in time, I think price may more accurately reflect economic support and activity on each chain.

There so many newly made altcoins today but no one of them can surge so hard to those coin you mentioned and I believe that top 1 of the coin is still the BTC and second still the ETH but on the top 3 I will consider The stratis or the waves since both of them got great potential to rise up for more for more years will come to these coins.

On the contrary, the coins that can surge much harder than BTC and ETH are the low market cap coins (including those that don't exist yet). I'm talking about buying at 10-20 satoshis and selling at 0.0001 - 0.001 BTC. Massive gains are still possible, but the risks are high since most coins are a dime a dozen. It takes some research, luck, and spreading your eggs into different baskets to do well in altcoins.

Top 3 ? First as always will be Bitcoins ,It will not be replace by any altcoin on topo . Second will be ETH if he remains his good rate but if not i go for LiteCoin , it is one of the good coin that had been continuously rising in the Bitcoin Segwit no matter what it is not affected on it .And Third for me would likely ETH or XEM . I have research and the team and its development is good as it has a new prospective use this year.

I would say number 1 will be bitcoin, number 2 will be ethereum and number 3 will be NEO.

Obviously Bitcoin will stay remain at the top, nothing can beat Bitcoin yet, the second place will be eth, the popularity of eth is quite surprising and eth has been Bitcoin shadow for a long time and eth is a strong alt coin, the third place is the one I can't predicted, it can be ripple it can nem or LTC, there are no strong candidate for the third place seems like all the coins got the same popularity

top 3 based on what?
there are so many factors that can change what stays on top of an imaginary list. for example based on market cap there are a couple of shitcoins on top. coins such as Ripple are far away in the #1 position in that list right now. and they are followed by others like ethereum.

based on volume?
the daily volume fluctuates a lot and sometimes some random coins come up. but if you look at it over longer term you can see bitcoin is #1 and then with a huge difference come the rest of them.

based on price?
it should be long term price, how it changes and how stable each rise is.
again bitcoin will be #1 followed by a big difference by other altcoins like Byteball

based on real world application aka being a currency?
that list is very short: #1 bitcoin. #2 litecoin #3 Monero

With you and one more person already said about NEO that it will place in number three.But in my opinion its not possible.There are has more potential coin i have found. which one coin will take place in number 3 its so difficult to say.But i hope any potential coin would take place of 3.

its really hard to say what will be the next big coin to hit the market all i knew is its a matter of trust and if you got a good price to catch up for sure you will gain a  lot, with btc as number 1 and eth take the number 2 spot there's still xmr,xrp,ltc which also trying to catch that position and to add up waves and stratis so its up to the traders if what coin that they will support with.

BTC has been taking the lead since this year. The correction was fast enough that many people felt like they are left behind the train. I think BTC is the number one when considering the Top 3 coins followed by NEO

Eth is among three best coins but we can’t say it is best. Bitcoins are best than any other digital currency. They are on the top of list of best coins of 2017. Then comes eth and waves. Eth and waves have potential but not more than bitcoins.

You are right that to me bitcoin is already number one currency and it will be always and forever top 1 and number one digital currency of all in one. So everyone need to adapt bitcoin because its advantages is very much. And right, ethereum is number 2 currency and it is also very good for investment.

i strongly recommend bitcoin, etherium and litecoin. because the volume also the price isnt changing too much

These are also the three most liquid coins that are available on major exchanges, so they are the most likely to see the most money injected directly from fiat. Coinbase only offers these three coins, and Bitstamp just announced that it'll start ETH trading next week.

1. Bitcoin - this will never get old and won't be out of the list of every crypto trader / miner and hodlers.
2. Ethereum - always next to bitcoin this coin is certainly one of the fastest growing crypto currency and after announcing into PoS it did helped.
3. Litecoin -  I don't have any reason on this coin but I just feel it.

For that opinion the top 1 and 2 can considered but for number 3 there are a lot of coin that can take up this place. For Neo not so really.

I'd agree that XMR is something to keep in mind. It's the only really promising privacy-oriented crypto so far. Hardly anyone uses anonymous transactions in Zcash (making them useless) and the trusted launch was pretty disappointing. With fungibility becoming more and more of an issue, I expect XMR to remain one of the top coins.

Number 3 is a long shot.

Bitcoin will always remain as the king, so obviously bitcoin is the #1. Ethereum will be the #2, because most of the ICO'S are Ethereum based, and bitcoin is so attractive to investors. 3# will be difficult, maybe it can be Monero, as it is one of the most stable crypto's that exists, maybe Litcoin, as it has always been. Or a big new one, Neo.

Bitcoin will still be #1.
Now #2 and #3, are somewhat question marks.
There might be surprises coming later this year or early next year.
NEO and ONION might be the surprises I'm talking about.

Always top 1 cryptocurrency and top 1 coin is Bitcoins only in this year also Bitcoins are top.
Top 2 coin is ethereum , and top 3 can't said perticularly it may be fluctuates some times litecoins some times monero like this it's fluctuates.

IOTA can be beast until the end of the year in my opinion. Other than that top 3 coins will be Bitcoin, Ethereum and potentiall Litecoin but there could be another great coin project to hit. Noone can really predict.

I think Bitcoin still be the first and the number one of the best cryptocurrency coin in this year,, and than the second nd the third one is between ETH or BCC

Surely, BTC will be NO. 1 and follow by ETH. The 3rd will be uncertain. But I think ETH will surely go faster than BTC in term of  income % due to many development from big companies like Microsoft.

LOL, NEO just is altcoin pumped by Chinese and the value of it is temporary, not reasonable and really. You can see just in short time the price of NEO increasing very fast and most holder are from China. So, NEO will be like Ripple, Stellar soon.

3. Coindash has a big community and believer, the team also smart and proofen can easily get out from worst situation ( the important thing in crypto world )

5. boscoin has a very big support from korean people and also has a innovative technologies in crypto, their target is 1000 transaction / second

It's not difficult to predict 1 and 2 but hard to predict 3th, It will be bitcoin cash or ripple in the short term but in the long term ripple will be 3th. I wouldn't even take into account neo or IOTA.

You're forgetting that Asian market is one of the largest, and the FACT is, China doesn't like foreign stuff. And also China is so big it can trump both EU and US market.

Bitcoin is definitely reserved all the time for the highest. I think the top 2 and 3 are still being fought over until now. There are still 5 months left.

i found most people think btc and eth will stay the top 2, i agree too, the difference is the 3th, ripple, iota, bcc, neo... so many, i have no certain answer fo this year, but i think eos will be 3eth for a long term

I believe that top 2 coins will be certainly be this year BTC and ETH. But third coins BCC will not be reason being its the byproduct of the 1st Aug event. And such coins generally may do better for short time only. So 3rd coin could be ZCASH/Ripple

I agree with your order except for the coin XRP. I hope your prediction may come true but can’t say anything yet. The other three coins are in good order. We all know that bitcoins are unbeatable. Remaining two is also doing great in the crypto market. In short I support your arrangement.

If I will give top 3 coins for this year, I will choose bitcoin, eth, and bitcoin cash. Bitcoin is my top one because we all know that bitcoin is the beginning of cryptocurrency. Also, bitcoin has the highest value in all cryptocurrency. My second coin is eth because eth is the nearest to bitcoin's value compared to other altcoin. My third coin is bitcoin cash because even it was just released in August 1, its value was rising faster.

There are no doubt about Bitcoin is always number one ranking coin.Secondly obiously Ethereum because its most popular using coin after Bitcoin and i believe ETH is the next BTC.And there are many coin is  exist number third i think.

I agree with your ranking. The best and legendary coin of the crypto market is undoubtedly everyone’s favorite i.e. bitcoin. The next position obviously secures the rival of the bitcoin Ethereum. Eth is always in competition with bitcoins but never meets success and never will. Third position should be given to waves.

top 3 market cap?
Bitcoin and ethereum will stay in their place for sure. But i dont think bitcoin cash can keep its #3 there. The most possible currencies for #3 are dash and iota for now. probably top 3 will be btc, ethereum and dash.

i think antishare (NEO) will take the third place and Bitcoincash (BCH) will take the second place along with bitcoin .

ETH, Ripple and Monero will be top altcoins this year. Monero is not so popular right now, but it will be popular with time. A lot of people like it, Doge users can switch to Monero.

Gonna agree with you.. this is the safest bet. Maybe the hardfork coin compete the 3rd place but I doubt.

Same prediction as mine :) It's sure that NEO is working with China goverment, one of devs said that they were working for years together. Last actions are proof - most chinesee scamcoins were removed from markets after China regulations - only NEO prevails :) this is 1st step, we should await next ones. It was at 3rd place already, but been dumped hard by whales and all that FUD in last weeks.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC). Personally, my opinion is such a bitcoin, no one is clearly going to kill until the end of the year, Ethereum goes well into growth, well, and as an alternative from many Litecoin.

The topcoin is Bitcoin and it will be Bitcoin in the future. What is going to follow after bitcoin is hard to say. I would expect Ethereum or Monero, but I am not sure! I think Ethereum is going to make the race behind Bitcoin. I also expect some BCH china future, but I think Monero is going to be better than BCH!

For 2018 I say my top 3 picks would be: 1) Bitcoin, 2) Ethereum, and 3) Bitcoin Cash.

To complete my list of top 12: 4) NEO, 5) EOS, 6) Cardano, 7) Komodo, 8.) TRON, 9) Reddcoin, 10) PRiVCY, 11) DeepOnion, and 12) Deviantcoin.

Other cryptos that are also worthy are: Bean Cash, Stellar, Zcash, Zoin, Zcoin, DSTRA, DASH, OmiseGo, Ethereum Classic, XGOX, Bitcore, NANO, and Bytecoin.

There are many others that are worthy too. But these I mentioned are my top holdings. ;D
