The Altcoin is seen as "Chinese Ethereum". It rose from $7 few weeks ago to $31 today.  Why are people excited.?

Looks like the trading is manipulated. But it's good for pump and dump.

Because it's chinese ethereum. Chinese like to pump their own coins. Technology looks promising but we will see in the long therm if this has been just pump and dump or it has some ground

The pump looks manipulated and Chinese likes to pump coins so maybe they are trying to manipulate it's price. It has a potential to grow in the next coming months but for now, stay away from buying this coin it is too risky to buy now if it really is manipulated. There is a high chance of it dumping if it is manipulated. If it is not, then there is still a potential profit in it.

I think NEO has huge potential. I don't like the phrase "Chinese Ethereum" as that's too easy, but having said that China is a huge and very insular market, which is part of NEOs promise.

I wouldn't buy at the moment though, I'd wait for a price drop.

you already answered your question. it is rising because it is chinese ethereum :) chinese government and people are supporting it, and they are the most saving and sparing people in the world besides there are way too many of them :)

I think that Chinese will pump that coin, because for them it is new Ethereum coin and it just made rebranding.

I think there is a big bubble for the NEO ,the price is so crazy that I can not believe that. The Chinese project is interesting and the dev team is very good at making promotion, maybe this is a good lesson for other alt coins.

The new name and the graphics are super cool. I think people are buying on the FOMO right now.

But we had bubble for the Etherium too.. I think there is no problem in the coin. There is problem cause everyone has ICO now. And if NEO will be really better for ICO it will be grow.

How many NEO are there in circulation and should we purchase more now or is it too late now to buy in at this very high price? I only have a few of this coin so am now shocked at the price and not sure to buy in or not.

Calling it the "chinese ethereum" makes no sense because the chinese can buy ethereum instead of neo. What can neo do that ethereum cannot?

This is a good altcoin. Dubbed ETH of china. It is also built on the foundation of ETH. Currently it is being harvested a lot.

One of the reasons for the high price is scarcity...there are only 50 million coins in circulation. There are other reasons for its value, like that it's being developed in the most populous country in the world, and supported by that country's government. I think it's an awesome coin to hold.

The idea that they will have there own crypto standard and platform is what I think makes NEO so attractive to investors.

Yeah, NEO is a rocket on chinese fuel. Of course it is overpumped now, but overall growth is insured.

No one knows when the shares will drop. This is a typical pump. If you're not in it I would suggest you to wait. This is true with ripple and eth a few months ago. Be patient.

I think there will be a psychological sell point at $100 if neo ever reach to $100. I have a good feeling there will be one more pump this week to push it to $100.

They claim to bring .net langauges to the EVM. It is confusing to me why they need a separate blockchain to do it (?) Ethereum will support .net languages, someone just needs to write a compiler that compiles it to the evm. All this fud is disgusting

I doubled up on my NEO yesterday that's how much I believe in it. Was with it since Antshares. As I mentioned before, they are running a bunch of ICO's now to build on the platform (Red Pulse is one of them and only accepting NEO) so yeah, it's will Moon. I am guessing $100 in the next few months and probably will go beyond that once it has a bunch of projects running on it's platform.

NEO is a Chinese eth and it will do exactly what eth did maybe more than that i wish if NEO price correction returned backed to 60 - 70 per one coin to buy more . i miss two days ago opportunity of buying neo at 80 that was very very fast .

Yes, I have seen it, its value has increased quite fast and I was quite surprised when it reached the top 10 on coinmarketcap. NEO, also known as Antshares, is China's first open source, the project was founded by Onchain's CEO. They set clear goals, plan reasonable and have a big ambitious. And things are going their way, NEO is growing very fast, up to 25.84% in just one day. There are several reasons. NEO seems interesting on first sight. I will do my research and might invest a small amount in it to see if it rises like crazy until the end of the year. But for now I'm staying away. The price is too high and as some people say it might be manipulated by Chinese people. I hope it's not tho.

You haven't see the craziness yet..... I believe this is just a start... Most of the NEO volume today is from Bittrex. Wait till the Chinese find out, they're gonna pump the crap out of this to the Mars.

The daily NEO volume since last 3 months on Bittrex puts the rest of all the popular altcoins(including ETH) to shame. While Ethereum can only run on Solidift, NEO can be developed on multiple number of languages making it more flexible and scalable.


You're looking at a potential $100-300 Billion Marketcap for NEO with in next 5-7 years, if everything goes smoothly.

Wait till ICO's are going to run on NEO platform...it will go boom even more. Just like Ethereum did back in the days. Get in the train and enjoy the ride.

I wouldn't quite say that, I still think NEO has a long way to go over the next 6 months to a year. Not saying its a great idea to get in at this price as I think it will likely fall again at some point, but my prediction is that within a year NEO will end up priced somewhere between ETH and BTC.

it is gaining popularity as more people invest in crypto day by day... the competition for smart contract coins is now starting. But I still prefer ETH as per mining technology wise, I am not in favor of asic.

ICO crazyiness is gonna burn a lot of people sooner rather than later I think.

It is a good coin, I do not know if it is going to live up to the hype of being the next Ethereum but without a doubt is one of those coins that can give you good earnings in the short term if you are able to know when to enter the market and when to get out.

When this thread was stated they thought Neo rose very fast! Now Neo has done more tha 3000%! Crypto is magic. But that magic only happen to those who have  patience! Pick the right alt or ICO like Spectre.ai and you may never work for the rest of your life again!

It's a Chinese based company but it is traded on exchanges across the world. I think most people believe China halted ICO's because things were happening too quickly and unregulated. I for one, do not think this ban is permanent. Regulation is needed in the space there are way too many scammers and it can be tough to decipher legitimacy in the digital world. Ultimately, a regulated ICO process will make the industry more legitimate. Neo has rebounded on the belief by many that China will likely reinstate ICO's under more controlled terms. When this occurs, Neo will be in a good position to capitalize.

yes, I agree with your view. Chinese are very intelligent. They know Cryptocurrency value clearly. They will try to find a good way to regulate ICOs to help it become better for investors. So, people believe in Neo coin and invest in it.  8)

Since NEO is considered a Chinese coin, its fate will depend on those activities with respect to the crypto currency, which are now being completed in China. If there is indeed accepted a national regulated crypto currency, which will be supported by the government, then we should expect strict restrictions on the circulation of other decentralized coins, including NEO. However, I think that this coin will evolve, since it has no binding, like other decentralized coins, to a certain state and its rate will be determined by the demand for it by the world community and regulated by the market.

NEO is the best Chinese platform right now, they have 6 languages blockchain platform, it means they can attract many investors on board. It is 1000x return project.

i honestly don't know why people call it Chinese coin but if they are true that can also mean NEO can have huge pumps that have never been seen before. we have already seen some small ones in LTC last year when Chinese pumped it hard to its ATH before the LTC halving. we can see a huge rise in NEO too. it can even go to 0.3BTC

and any regulations would come for all altcoins not just one NEO!

NEO is definitely much underrated at the moment. By the pace at which they are going into developing partnerships and scaling their platform, this could see 3 digits by the 1st quarter of next year.

I sat on the sidelines on this coin. I didn't want to invest any Bitcoin into NEO because the price looks really fake. I feel sorry for the people that want to make money on it though.

NEO until recently was a good and promising decentralized coin. However, after the events in China to limit the circulation of crypto currency in this country, NEO as a Chinese coin has been persecuted and its future largely depends on how successfully the common question on the crypto currency will be decided in China. The information coming from China is encouraging. There they can return to their former relations with the crypto-currency, but with a partial regulation of it.

Neo has to deal with regulations  with Chinese Government. If there are no room for Neo to carry out some of it is objective, how can you expect Neo to become valuable in the future.

It's very strong coin indeed. Even during bad news from China it was dumped just a little. I'm sure it will continue to grow at 2018.

They have good team, it is a long term project i bought some NEO ( at 35$ ) and keep waiting..

NEO has some good benefits besides being considered only a copycat of Ethereum (even though they are followers). First of all the serve the Asian market, which is huge. Local products and services are always more attractive to the locals of that region and serve better the market and consumers, so that's one big thing. A second thing which is essential, even though NEO does basically the same as ETH, they are doing it more efficiently, for example, Ethereum is having the scalability issue, where they are not able to process more than 8 transactions per second, while NEO has already reached over 500 hundred I believe. If adoption is going to be fast and ETH lacks behind, NEO can take a huge market share of ETH and even ETC and make it work for them. It's a good hedge against ETH as it is its closest rival and owning some NEO therefore will guarantee that you are covered in the smart-contract sector.

NEO in some cases wins at ETH, possession of NEO coins is similar to the ownership of shares, they earn Gas.

NEO has good features and more over it offers GAS to its holders which is quite interesting. It will be bigger than what it is now.

NEO is the good coin to trade, and yes for a long time holders NEO will give good returns. But this is China base coin, so people are not showing more interest to invest on this coin. I think next year this coin will cross $100 margin. Today this coin price is $32 so we can easily expect this margin.

NEO is my the most favourite investment. It wasn't dumped even before the hardfork and during Chinese FUD and news about ICO ban. Chinese government interested in their succees so they should live and grow well IMO.

Possible quasi-governmental support from a country with a billion people. I like that.

While this is possible, you'll probably need to wait many many years for it to happen.  Note that it already pumped more than 150x.  My ambitious/optimistic goals for it the next 2 years is $150-$300.  Depending on how the ICO's based on it performs, it may flash quickly though.

Best model to use for it as reference is ETH.

NEO is a good altcoin, but is not going to compete with ETH in the next 2 years. Yes because it is the old AntShares, and because the Bitmain is the biggest producer of bitcoin in the world it is probable that its price will go up to 200-500 USD in the next 2 years. But to compete with the real ETH this would happen in the next 4-6 years, if it will remain competitive. In 4-6 years other promising investment opportunities could be found.

I do not think so . NEO is considered as a new market and can compete directly with ETH because NEO technology is being attracted by many investors and certainly there will be more ICO projects used on this platform.
