I think this would be a solid idea. This board is large so I think if we get a lot of people onboard, we can have an influence

Concept: On one specific date, we all put $1000 USD (or whatever you are comfortable with) and all buy the same coin at the same time. If there's interest, we can all congegrate through email, discord or something

Aiming for a september date for this ... and targetting a cheap coin with potential so we can all hold like a 1,000,000 of the coin

That is just a pumping and hoarding of a coin.
Check out my list of coins in the thread in my Sig.  I think rather then pump a coin for one day, we could find a consensus on one or a few deserving coin we can continually support.

You sound like one of dem youtubers who trick people into pumping so he can dump for profit...  :-[

Something similar.  These coins need long term support or just fade away.  At least one dev active on the project, and others.  We can set bounties, make a faucet, android wallets, markets, etc.

Things like this wont work. There will always be atleast 1 who see an oppertunity to buy in early and dump when you raised the price. Most likely over half of the people in you group wont trust the others and will dump at the first sign of price decrease leaving you with many coins at a low price if you indeed think this is a legit idea and wont abuse it yourself.

There is no way this is going to work, putting in such huge buy wall will make a shit coin more valauble and thier is no way for you to prevent anyone from taking profit early since the fund is not been managed by someone

That will never work for the same reason cartels don't work.  Lack of trust and greed.

Not as well as you'd expect.  And they're usually a tiny group that regularly meet.  Imagine a large anonymous group.

Edit:  The diamond cartel is an exception but that's a near monopoly with De Beers owning some 70% of the market. 

That seems like a terrible idea how can you be so sure people wont dump early in fear of others doing that themselves? The coin would instantly crash

That just like give your money to the shitcoin holders, so they can leave from there and we will be trapped in there. I hope everyone must understand to not invest in the shitcoin with unknown development.
Why choose the shitcoin if there are some better coin.  ::)

Got into BTC around Jan 2016. Altcoins March 2017. I am pretty new. Thought it would be a good idea though ... but definately havnt thought it through. Appreciate the responses.

Ideally i would want to get in on a Penny coin, but i guess we can always go for a coin like NEM / Ripple / NXT / Stellar which are easy to purchase on Polo and fairrly cheap

So you are just basically tell everybody to pump the coin and keep it as such for a month. I dont hink that would be a good idea becuase people will soon sell off their coins as they make their targeted profit and then the price will go down and rest of them will be left over being bag holders. Thats what happens with all the pump and dumps. We should never take part in a pump and dump to avoid losses. Better to play right and play safe.

Agree with that not a good idea to stay that coin in a pump way playing it is more adventurous here in forum. For me i woul probably play that way than to keep it pump because we dont owe it and we cant predict what other think.

There are several pump and dump coins. No need to create another, just pick your favorite and try to enter the secret pumps and dump groups.

I hope you understand there is differences between Monopoly and cartel controlled market. But I do agree with the level of greed is very high not that this is not going to end well

there is no secret pump groups for newbies . All pump groups will let you know after pump. So you will buy from high and let them profit. You will only lose money.

Yes at this time almost all altcoin prices are down and it seems like the right time to buy some altcoin that has the potential to continue to progress, whether for investment or for trading because it seems that soon some altcoin prices will increase drastically

i agree with your opinion for now altcoin dump and i think in a few days or week the altcoin value goes uprise and pumping like the bitcoin go down because of the split issue  and now the bitcoin are strong value and keep increasing, my prediction about the altcoin is almost the same situation in the bitcoin. go dump later go pump.

better to plan it wisely and look for a high volume trade then buy while its still at dip then wait and hold I prefer to buy those coins who already

The idea of the community coin is not bad if you add something else that gives value to the coin.
Bitcoin rise will affect the value for Altcoins for a while, but anyway, any cryptocurrency will be affected by volatility.
Pump a new coin and sell could be a good business in the  short term but the risk is too high.
I found more interesting other kind of projects and I would check the team, experience, track record, etc.

Exactly. I have experienced this myself , it's more like pump and dump: very terrible practice. He/she better not consider at all or except he trusts those who will invest with me 100%

I think any cryptocurrency is potentially a good business but we have to be careful on the definition of a good/secure investment.

The problem here is how to create this coin and how it will be. In a private or public forum, investors will ask themselves if this investment is secure.

So the point here is what do you need to create a good coin, and maybe this is an interesting topic for the forum.

read thread replies. I came up with it on my own last summer before I even understand what a pump and dump was (shit, i barely understood crypto pricing in general). Was thinking of ways to integrate it and thought 'btc talk' would be a good one.
