Title: ICO's and its real current value
Post by: Alt0id on August 14, 2017, 12:29:42 AM
I really do understand the fudnamentals behind ICO's and how they work but right now can someone give me one successful ICO that wasn't a scam and that really has a practical value in this world

Check AiCoin. They're basically a token based investment fund with two components. Due to the legal paper and its registration as a legal company and due to the nature of their fund it's highly unlikely that it would ever fail. Their product has also been ready before the ICO even started, which is the biggest problem with most other ICOs.

Most other ICOs can't really be evaluated properly yet, since they're still developing the products.

Are you aware of some projects that are out side of finance (and)/or gambling??

SONM is currently at a very low price, goal: decentralized supercomputer by leasing unused computing power of consumer devices (PCs, smartphones, etc.).

Blocklancer is going to build a decentralized freelancing platform. Huge and fairly fresh industry with massive growth potential. Current platforms are all pretty bad for various reasons that Blocklancer is looking to address.

Presearch is creating a decentralized search engine that will pay the ad revenue out to its users. If they manage to successfully address how to mitigate search spam abuse (e.g. through quickly diminishing returns, captchas, etc.) they could end up competing with or even replacing Google as the number one search engine.

SONM is no longer in ICO, the other two are.

Never listen to people like this OP.

Also, you should at the very least try to say something about the project you're shilling. Otherwise you're just damaging the project with your pointless spam.

I really do understand the fundamentals fudnamentals behind ICO's and how they work
Basically ICO's are there to help projects get some finances for development by carrying out tokensales

but right now can someone give me one successful ICO that wasn't a scam and that really has a practical value in this world
There several projects which did not end up as scams you might want to check https://coinmarketcap.com to see what some of the successful ICO's are now worth for example ethereum  :P and Bancor are some of the successful ico stories.

Tap Coin will have its ICO in about two months. They are putting their coins into games so that players can be rewarded for achievements, beta testing etc. The key is they actually want the coin to benefit developers and gamers, everyone gets something from the transaction. They just released some screen shots of the app/wallet as well.

An ICO is the best way to develop a project. If it were otherwise it would be slower the development projects as it happens with many coins.

You shouldn't consider ICOs as crypto currencies, 99% of ICOs are companies and developers selling their shares and or their products in exchange for tokens which are being traded on a decentralized system, this way they are saying that they're not controlling their supply of shares/tokens.
Only coins that people around the world could mine for themselves without any limitation and restrictions should be considered crypto currencies.
And all of them want to share the risks of failure with investors, otherwise if they were sure about their success they would've never shared their certain profits with people.
We even have a token named "ICO" lol that's just perfect, however I'm extremely against ICOs but I'm going to invest on Social the one I'm wearing their signature and avatar not because I'm wearing them, no this is my own personal decision and if any of you wants to invest you should do your research before entering.
Iconomi and Waves are two ICOs I invested on, well not exactly on Waves but on Iconomi I did but unfortunately I sold at $0.9.

People think bitcoin is in a bubble. The REAL bubble is how much money is going into these ICOs. I believe its pushing up the price of bitcoin. Not all these coins will pan out. MOST will fail completely. However, one might be the crypto of the future that gets used for fast/cheap transactions for decades or more. If you have just a little of that coin its like owning google when it was first a start-up.

I agree with you most will fail in the next years and this is not much important for the team as they always know when to sell their all tokens.

I do think most of the ICO projects can only show you something predicted or just a future image, it is hard to say if there is truly have great value since the target have not been achieved and that is why they need investment to do that. So ICO is a high risk and high payback investment, maybe just like gambling.

In present, most ICO will comeback the base price when crowdsale, they not lower than this price unless scam project or small community. So I think still take advantage this scenario for take some profit when trading token ICO.
