EDIT: User has messaged me saying that they have removed all links, claiming they "didn't know".

I'm still a little bit suspicious due to the timing of the posts being so close to the creation of the fake GitHubs... And also the hiding of the fake link behind the official link using URL tags in one post...

What happened:
The user mayback1980 has been spamming all the threads in the Electrum subforum claiming that the official ElectronCash github (https://github.com/fyookball/electrum) is fake... and claiming that some random github repo (https://github[dot]com/electroncash/windows-linux) is the only trusted source. The repo they are spamming was only created on 12 August! ::)

In addition, the latest commit to this repo effectively breaks the entire codebase by changing all the '.' characters to ','

The binaries are most likely backdoored or malware designed to steal seeds/keys and/or coins off users attempting to get their BCH coins.

Is there a way to have the fake github removed? This is a pernicious scam and should be removed and contained asap. It's the kind of scam designed to steal a lot of coins.

And this scammer... why is he not red tagged yet? He is so bold and brazen, shamelessly advertising this fake site while condemning the real link.

Next time use a service to archive the posts, such as: https://archive.fo/. I'd expect you to know this by now.

for future references use this link https://github.com/contact/report-abuse to report these types of stuff to GitHub. the other repo is already removed the new one is still there though.

p.s. the funny thing is the name of the scammer is TheBIueMatt which is abusing the known and trusted Matt Corallo aka https://github.com/TheBlueMatt

i removed all links, i saw them posted many times many places... so i believed they was right links

Just so you know,I have your entire Dox from one of the conversations we had.If not the entire Dox,I have your  picture and location details which I know are precise.I'm also aware of your other career details.If you don't stop spreading links or somehow managed to scam the amounts,I'll hand over details to anybody willing to take a legal action against you.You don't want to risk your career over this mate.

I doubt he didn't know. Granted he really didn't, ignorance is rarely an excuse when certain things don't add up. Like, yes, the timing of posts correlating highly with the creation of the fake link. That alone is a very damning factor. Am I (and others) to be led to believe that he, by pure chance and a stroke of luck, stumbled upon the fake link on the day it was published, then immediately and conveniently launched a coordinated campaign here in defense of that fake link?

User was tagged and now he claims he "didn't know". How convenient for him to negate all knowledge of and association with those links after realizing his aggressive attempts to denounce the real github link wasn't winning him any support.
