What do you think is the best coin in the World?  Bitcoin or Etherium? Many said, Etherium is the best coin ever made, many also said that no coin can beat the first and most powerful coin in the planet. Hmmmm...  What do you think?  :-\

Cryptos now have specialties where they can be number 1 in their categories for example monero is the best for privacy, other coins are been used for medical aid, other coins are good for gaming platforms.
All coins have different strengths and purposes but In terms of market cap between the two cryptocurrencies bitcoin is already number 1 according to https://coinmarketcap.com

If I had to choose between the two, it would be Bitcoin. Even after the all questioned split, it is still proving to be a one of its kind by still rising after all the chaos. Ethereum has a lot of controversy surrounding itself so don't expect it to make it to the top.

If you ask altcoin then ethereum the answer

Right now, I think there is Bitcoin and altcoins. I don't see any coin surpassing BTC, and as far as altcoins go, right now Etherium is my favorite, and the number one altcoin. I would keep an eye on byteball as well though. It seems to be doing well, but they still don't have a lot of volume, but I will keep some though, because I think they will gather interest in the community.

Why not another one... Who knows...

Yes question is interesting, but answer for this is different because Etherium is new Altcoin, yes, it is good coin with good price, but of course bitcoin is the first coin on crypto world and for today there is no coin stronger and more stable than bitcoin.  The number1 coin next few years will be Bitcoin

Ethereum may has some fancy technologies, it doesn't mean it's superior than Bitcoin. On the contrary, Bitcoin is much more secure and truly decentralized, which is a key factor of blockchain technology. I personally prefer Bitcoin than Ethereum.

These two crypot-currencies have a radically different purpose. Bitcoin is meant to be a store of value and payment system, while Ethereum is a decentralised world-computer.

Without the bitcoin technology, there wouldn't be any other coins, so with that in mind, only bitcoin is the number 1 coin.

And beside that, bitcoin is also the most well known coin for 'regular' people. My family for example only knows bitcoin.

Obviously its bitcoin. Though feature per feature, many would argue that etherium has better in general, i don't think it can match up to bitcoin's status right now nor in the near future. Its a big factor that btc pioneered crypto and its way more popular right now. Etherium's following is also high if you compare to to all other altcoins, well except btc.

Bitcoin is Awesome! Bitcoin is the king of crypto and most popular among investors so far. It released in early 2009. Ethereum gets the number 1 among altcoins and second largest among crypto. It created mid-2015. I don’t like to compare bitcoin and Ethereum. But here are some of this thread ;

Different coin different usage... When choosing of which is no. 1 i will highly choose bitcoin ver ethereum. First bitcoin establish its name way back years ago. Price of it are getting so much increase as of now. Ethereum are one of best altcoin to invest with for long term investment... In crypto wolrd bitcoin is the leading of all cryptocurrency. The first cryptocurrency is Bitcoin after that all these altcoins will arrive. Based on this Bitcoin many altcoins are created and in that ETH also one coin, but now this coin is giving competition to Bitcoin not in price wise but in project wise. Many big investors are supporting ETH to make that coin populer. Let's see how ETH will compete to BTC, and it's replaced BTC or not.

Bitcoin always leading on cryptocurrency market...

It depends on what category are you talking about. A lot of users are using bitcoin and some are also keeping etherium. This two coins are not in a competition because each has different characteristics. Bitcoin and etherium are good investments to keep. Bitcoin is getting pumped nowadays and who knows how much will it go.

I think at some point ETH will overtake BTC in marketcap. I also think that at some point XRP will have a huge and sudden increase that will put it up there as a contender as well.
But these coins all do different things. I think bitcoin will remain the most important coin, even if it's not number 1 in cap.

It's hard  to say, but I think Bitcoin would be the last man standing. Honestly I think bitcoin cash have a better chance being the number 1 than ethereum. Many people seem to think negative about ethereum lately. Don't quote me on that though.

When we talked about crypto currency, bitcoin will be the first thing to cross the minds of most people. Bitcoin is a pioneer to the world of crypto currency and gain a massive success, hence any other coins which came after it, will be so hard to defeat bitcoin.

Bitcoin and Ethereum have different aspects. Bitcoin was created as decentralised money. Ethereum offers a basis for projects and apps and even has its own programming language. Developers aren't dependend from third party to offer their apps and many crowdfunding projects are realized on Ethereum.  So both are for me the number one.

is think etc will bee much stronger in future .....
but main coin is BTC iam also pushing bitcoin with genessis mining XD

I think bitcoin is still the number one, I think so because bitcoin price is more expensive than eth, and my investment is more in bitcoin than on ETH, hopefully bitcoin will be better again in the future

Considering the inability of Etherium to live up to the hype or the claims, I'll go with Bitcoin.

I have no doubt it is Bitcoin. Ethereum is already having serious scaling issues, without mass adoption... if this crypto becomes popular they may have serious scaling problems.

The real question is what coin will be number 1 in 5 years.  Lemme get in on that one

We can't tell for the future but as we can see today's price Bitcoin is on top and Ethereum stuck on more or less $400 and Bitcoin nearly surging $5000 this past few days I know that Bitcoin would hit that target soon. But I can really say that Bitcoin is the best in the world because more people, countries and merchants are using it as mode of payment which ethereum don't. I don't even heared about local stores or even online store that accept ethereum. So all in all I will go for Bitcoin.

i think it is hard to find out between bitcoin and etherium but many people will select bitcoin only as bitcoin is the most wanted coins now and ethereum maybe in second place. but if the dev from ethereum is not works the best, then bitcoin will still be number 1 coin. people right now is know bitcoin than any other coins because the word of bitcoin is spread in every where so people will choose bitcoin as the number 1 for now.

If anyone ask me who coin you buy know btc or eth. I tell ETH . ETH good but not better then btc. Bitcoin is one of above. Btc is best all time.

bitcoin is a currency that is in its initial steps of being mass adopted as a currency! and that makes it the number 1 coin. and for that reason ethereum won't even come 10% close to bitcoin's position ever. not in a million years.

but i know that none of the ethereum shills are even remotely interested in real world usage and only are interested in market cap!
so here is that calculation for you:
bitcoin market cap is currently about $71,118,159,376
and ethereum market cap is currently about $28,814,068,277

ethereum can easily release 138,337,819 new ether tokens and with the same price reach the bitcoin's market cap like what they did with the 72 million premined ETH. if they don't change the supply, with the current rate it will take about 90 years to reach bitcoin's market cap.

also if we consider price then eth only needs to be worth $755.97 to reach bitcoin's market cap. ;D
that is how fake the market cap is. you can easily manipulate it with your fake supply (premined) and have a bigger market cap than bitcoin with a pathetically low price.

If we are to look at their market cap, Bitcoin is and has been the number one, followed by ethereum, but in terms of uses, ETH is more used by companies and new bodies are coming up under ETH.

So, its something like this, BTC is the father of ETH and BCC, and ETH as the first son, ETH is a father with lots lots of children which are well known.

not at all. ethereum is not being used by ANY company or any real thing in the real world! the only usage for ethereum has been using it for ICOs so far to create some revenue for the creators and those who invest in those ICOs and trade ethereum itself (the pump and dump).

the only "companies" relationship of ethereum has been those big names who showed interest in the technology not ethereum itself. and they (like Microsoft) will soon create their own copy of it completely disconnected from ethereum. and improved version if you will.

ETH has much problems whitch hard to resolve. I do not think that ETH team wil do some revolutionary, so BTC looks stronger

No doubt bitcoin will be the number one coin . Because it is the original crypto currency completely used to transact and buy . Ethereum is the platform where we can create smart contract and eth is the currency.

Both bitcoin and ethereum are good, bitcoin is the first crypto currency and the price is really high. On the other hand Ethereum is like the 2nd best but Ethereum provide platform for other cryptocoin, so i must said Ethereum also good even the price is not high like Bitcoin. Yes bitcoin and Ethereum are the best coin for now but who knows, maybe someday a new coin with good project will come.

The fact that btc and eth has its own problem needed to be resolve.
I like these two but I think eth will never surpass bitcoin in all aspects.

I personally think Bitcoin will still be number 1 and no one can replace its place. Ethereum is has a different platform than bitcoin and I don't think it is trying to replace it as well. I even have both of these coins HODLed because I like them both.

Why not co-exist?

Judging by graphs and numbers so far, it's going to take a tremendous amount of happenings and effort to dethrone Bitcoin. There's the question to how long would the big corporations back ETH as well? BTC will stay on the chart for at least quite awhile longer.

but my word this is not to say that no good. the eth ETH got its own uniqueness and always shows her progress in the world cryptocurrency

Bitcoin.Not only the tech or the team that matters but the idea is widely accepted by the merchants,traders and other corporate services.It's obvious the coin which is widely used becomes the best coin.Speaking factually,there is no such thing as the best coin because it's subjective.It's similar to comparing Windows Vs Mac.Both have an advantage over each other  but windows is widely used in all corporate organisations.

Yes, i agree this is just all depends on the users side on which coin will they be using but unfortunately mostly of the users are on the side of Bitcoin compared to Etherium. Likely of choosing what operating system they will going to use, so there's no need to ask for it who's the number because everyone has their own decision on what side they will choose.

Bitcoin for me the best coin they two have different speculations, value and what other people think when they hear its name maybe no one coin can beat the bitcoin. As it is the mother of all coins no coins can want to beat it .

Both of these crypto assets are good. But BTC is the first in the cryptocurrency world. And for a next few years BTC will be the number 1 with high probability. However, despite other crypto currencies, ETH can be the number 2 for a long time

They do have different features which means we cant really compare them on taking the top spot but if we are really preferring or talking on whose in top now then the answer would really be "Bitcoin" theres no doubt on that since its the father of all cryptos and seeing on its price no one could really able to compete with that but when we are already talking on some developments and future use i would say smart contracts on eth is really very promising.

Ethereum or any other coin is nothing without Bitcoins as Bitcoin is parent coin that gave birth to all this trading as well as speculation, instead we wouldn't have been here talking about anything. Competitors arose just because Bitcoin was an idea that was proposed first, and as the saying goes: It's the first who is always remembered.

Bitcoin and ethereum will hit the marketcap at the same time. They're the same in their status, popularity, and usage of every coin. Bitcoin will always be number1 in my heart and in the world.

Seeing this two coins as the best coins that people created. Bitcoin has dominant peak among other coins and bitcoin could maintain its status in virtual coin.

I will still go for bitcoin. I can see the power of bitcoin and it's demands compare to all coins. Besides, bitcoin's value is beyond compare.  ;D

Right bitcoin is now and in future will be really number 1 coin of the world also you says that both currency is very good for us that's is right but to me the community of bitcoin is very large and they goes to increase daily and also its features is very best as compare to ethereum ethereum is also good but I like bitcoin and more no can take a place of bitcoin it will be always number 1 cryptocurrency.

ETH for this time was still on recovery of it's current price demand, because price will rise eventually even though there were lot's of sell orders. The bid was still at low price, so people who invested so far was on panic and immediately dumped their assets. For now it has no signs that it will surpass btc and maybe eth will just remain an altcoin trading coin and not same as bitcoin capability.

Ethereum does have a more sophisticated platform than bitcoin, especially smart contracts owned by ethereum but for popularity bitcoin is superior and in coinmarketcap bitcoin still ranks first, everyone has a different opinion.
