Title: This post is for those that think they missed the boat
Post by: BitcoinBarrel on August 15, 2017, 01:51:48 PM
Don't worry or be sad, there is still much room for growth in crypto-currencies that's a fact!

It's easy to tell yourself, "I wish I would have gotten into Bitcoin earlier so I could be rich!" but friends that is flawed thinking. You see, people that are wealthy today are wealthy for many reasons. These people were at the right place at the right time, had knowledge of markets, patience and discipline to sit on their investments through the many ups and downs.

It was extremely difficult and rare for early Bitcoin adopters to make it all the way to 2017 without selling their holdings. When Bitcoin was worth fractions of a penny, do you know how hard it was to not sell when Bitcoin was all of a sudden worth $1? If you had 100,000 Bitcoins, you would most likely sell most if not all of your coins for $100,000 because who would have thought BTC would be worth more than a dollar?

What about when Bitcoin was worth $100? Do you know how hard it was for people to not sell their stash then? If you had 5000 Bitcoins, you were now worth $500,000!

The point is, when you sit and regret you miss out on the many opportunities right infront of you. If you knew Bitcoin was going to be worth $50,000 in the near future would you be sitting and regretting? Or would you try and make as much money as possible to get 10x return on every dollar you invested?

Most of the large Bitcoin holders today were already wealthy when they got into Bitcoin, and had the capital to speculate on Bitcoin to hold for the long term.

So if you're broke today with no Bitcoins, it does NOT matter. Wealth can come at any time, you just have to position yourself to seize the right opportunities. You could win the lottery, find yourself in a profitable business venture, receive an inheritance you NEVER know. Then you can just buy Bitcoins.  ;D

Don't chase only Bitcoins: Chase Assets and Capital, then invest wisely. Good luck!

Wealthy people would be rich with or without Bitcoin.

The key to being wealthy is Preparation Meets Opportunity. Learn valuable skills, network with successful people and keep trying till you succeed!

I agree your opinion . Many people say that " If I were buying bitcoin in 2009 when bitcoin was under 0.01$ , today I could be a billionaire "
The boat is not over ! Let's compare bitcoin with ethereum
Bitcoin reached 300-400$ after 2-3 years of releasing ; and ethereum reached 400$ in the first year ! . The next boat , in my opinion is ethereum :)

ETH got so high because it's a bubble that will pop at some point. Some people are fascinated with it and think it will overtake bitcoin, but I don't think so. It's a fad, nothing more.

People are afraid of missing the boat because nothing can keep growing forever and at some point bitcoin price will stabilize. Are we at that point now? Not yet!

Good advice. It's hard to not get fixed that one has missed the boat, but no one can predict the future perfectly.

You gave me a motivation. Somewhere in the forum i'd written a short story about the boat i'd missed.

Now i'm learning about things before getting in.
Thank you so much for such words !  :)

Inspiring.  I was looking into BTC about 3 months ago, and decided to try robinhood instead.  Minor gains, but bigger losses.  I'm going into this with an amount I'm more comfortable losing, and I'm going to try to be less emotional this time.  I need to be better at holding through minor dips and not panicking.  Wish me luck!

Very inspiring message. I am sure before there are very few people that are willing to invest bitcoin. Its natural to regret the time/money wasted in wrong things, but we need to look ahead, prepare and walk forward.

Thanks for the pep-talk, and you are right. I think I had the same view as most people over the last few years ie. "wow bitcoin is a dollar now, surely it won't go higher" to "wow bitcoin is $100 now, surely it has hit it's peak" etc.
So thanks for the encouragement, it really does help considering I've been a bit down on myself for not getting into BTC earlier.

Good riddance! Most of the people always say that "You should have invest while Bitcoins was still low" and "It's hard to earn now". Nice advice "Don't chase only Bitcoins: Chase Assets and Capital, then invest wisely" that statement really pumped me up to continue this journey in BTC life. It's inspiring to see others encouraging one another while gaining what values most.

Very precise words, without doubt, although the fortunate early adopters will always keep a great advantage that newbies will never be able to overcome, nevertheless I agree that  all time are continuously emerging new opportunities to start our own success story.

If it would be THAT simple, everyone should put all their money in bitcoin and take max loan to buy even more bitcoin.
There is always a risk that it will never reach $10 000 or even $5000. It can start to only fall down.

Bitcoin is special so it will probably rise always, but its not THAT easy.

Thread op is right about this. A lot of people will sell their bitcoin when it hit 1000 5000 10000 and even higher prices. I am a holder since 2011 but I made some cash outs as well that I can see as mistakes. But let's be realistic. No one expected Bitcoin to reach in 1000+ in 2011. I bought a video card from it and today I could have bought a car from it. Hold you won't regret in 2020 there are people complaining they sold bitcoin when it was worth 1000-5000. When it is worth over 100k.

My conclusion in how many people are in Bitcoin. There is still a huge way to go. So yes I am still telling people they are early and that there are more crypto currencies than Bitcoin.

Haha, I missed the boat twice!! When the bitcoins were new, I never bought them. When I finally bought some, I lost all of them in HYIPs, revshares and a little bit of gambling. Now I have no Bitcoins, just some Steem on steemit. And I don't know how long will it last, before that goes down too!!!

While your message is very inspiring, my advice would to invest wiser, not much.

What the future will bring us nobody can tell. As BTC seems promising in the near future, it all seemed great in the past year too. When it just drop people were scaried and nobody could predict what was going to happen.

The same applies today, so I would invest in BTC, ETH and some Altcoins as well.

Always have a plan B just in case.

And I'm deeply curious how much bitcoin you sold at price levels you thought were outrageous at the time...and how much you still have.

Litecoin, folks, invest in Litecoin.

Only invest amounts that wouldn't make you sad, if price drops rapidly. Otherwise you will start panicking and try to sell your bag for less.

I have thought it was expensive to buy when it was around 1000 USD. It was around January, now it is around 4000 USD. Other than cryptocurrencies, no other method can give such profit or loss.

Anybody who's here thinking they want to get into bitcoin just needs to suck it up & invest. We all wish we were involved in 09 but there's no time like the present. The price goes up constantly so my advice to noobs - buy what you can afford to & hodl for a few years. Bitcoin = almost guaranteed profits, huge profits too.

you are right. never to late. there always be something new and learn from bitcoin. dont just chase for bitcoin. look for the new one. there are plenty room to evolved with them. start from ground and build it from scratch. have a plan and do always gain more knowledge.

I wouldn't give up. Never give up. Opportunity is around every corner it is just up to us to find it. People gave up on their chance with btc then eth happened and many people made a killing. There is waves now which is really great I think it might be the next eth ? There will be many more opportunities with other upcoming currencies to make huge profits. We all still early adoptors of Bitcoin.

The OP has a point. I was also tempted to sell when the price hit $ 3000 but luckily I decided to HODL. If you want to invest and not day-trade, then any time is good time to buy bitcoin. I am sure it will reach $10k in 2018.

So this is very helpful information ty.

Thats quiet a nice motivational speech. And i wanna add to it, that the most value of a coin or anything else is the value you give to it. I mean you dont sell yourself if you dont succeed in something, just believe in yourself and give it another try!

Definitely had this feeling when I remembered passing on the opportunity to buy bitcoin 3 years ago. But just watching the exchanges and watching how prices have risen for many coins gives me a sense of hope. Might never be another bitcoin but opportunities are still good! Plenty of coins still gunna go to the moon!

This is so much a valuable advise. It is an eye opener and at the same time good thing to think through about life and strategies we do on how to handle it. What a very nice day to hear about opportunities and how you can maximise it. I love the fact that people like you guys are all open minded and willing to achieve greater heights! I'm wondering where the idea that ETH is a fad and will quickly fade away given it's amazing acceptance by others. Many people were saying the same about BTC when it was released. That's how we find ourselves here. I think that ETH should be treated as BTC was in the beginning until it shows that it's unable to sustain the current growth path.

Because they thought they have been late in bitcoin. But if they read your thread then of course they will get courage and start work with bitcoin with patience and discipline, then the day is not far when bitcoin make us rich.

Totally right. There are still many coins under or near $1 which can reach big numbers. For example Steem, storj, ripple, etc. And so many new tokens are coming. It's all about taking the risk. When we see it now, then we think those old adopters were lucky, but if we were in their place, then god knows how soon we would have sold our bitcoins. Like if we bought them at $1 and when the price reached $100, then most of us would have sold, as it is a pure 100x profit. But only few would have believed that it would reach $5000+ and so they are enjoying the bigger profits now! It's all about making the right and timely decisions.

No worries because the crypto world will still continue to grow in the upcoming years, especially now that a lot of people become interested and use bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.

this post is so inspiring thanks for sharing!  You're totally right there will always be opportunity - I remember thinking I had missed the property craze in 2007 and so bought a development opportunity right before the crash, then same with my last business we aligned ourselves with an industry trend and it didn't work out too well!

The thing is bitcoin is not just a trend or a fad it's a real game changer and I think this still feels like we are right at the beginning and everyone is learning as we go.  I feel really privileged to be part of it so early and it's great to see thriving communities like this as well.

Thanks again for sharing - nice to see a positive and uplifting message

Cheers

thats true that some of us in bitcoin world has missed a chance to bought some bitcoin when its price is cheap before, but its not too late to us to invest. maybe the price is totally cant afford to have but the chance to got it is more reliable in term of working hard on it by rolling your few bitcoin to get some altcoins to gain profits. it is not easy to us who are missed the chance because of its huge value now but theres a room left for us to achieve this opportunity

Right now is a great time to get in! I've been monitoring and researching Bitcoin for a few months and just think, it recently was $5000. If you buy 1 Bitcoin right now, you can easily make $1500 on your investment in a month if things go great.

There's a lot of speculation that Bitcoin can make it to $10,000 next year. Even if it takes a whole year for that happen you're still making about 60% return on your investment. Not too shabby.

This is the best time to buy bitcoin if your goal is for long term investment. They're having a big discount ongoing. Now, we can say that "Cash is King". Never think you missed the boat because as Bill Gates said: "Nobody can stop Bitcoin | Bitcoin is unstoppable"

This is a great buying opportunity. The weak hands continue to show up and lose money. Hold for the long term.

totally agree - I think the bigger payoff though is in holding for the long term. Give it even until this time next year and I think we will be well in to the 5 figure values.  At least it's never boring!

Don't worry or be sad, there is still much room for growth in crypto-currencies that's a fact!

Much room? Man, this is beggining of the road. We are so early, people that heard about bitcoin are like 0,x% of the world population.
We are early stages of internet, similiar stuff.

Bitcoin will be easily $15 000 per coin til end of 2020.

The Internet is completely changing, have any of you heard of the Inter Planetary File System or IPFS? New opportunities will be available through Filecoin once IPFS becomes more widespread. There are many new technologies and opportunities coming out in this space that will allow anyone to build a very attractive portfolio. IOTA, EOS, NEO and many more including a few, and very promising ERC20 tokens as well.

If you feel you missed the very early Bitcoin boat and you looked back and regret it and feel you missed out but then eth came along and if we missed that boat we feel we missed out there too. So erh was the second really big one so there will be more. We must just learn from our mistakes and next time take action rather then simply ait idley by. On the other hand you are making a prediction for the market but I still think there is something to learn.

I think investors in Cryptocurrencies should really be buying into the concept behind the tokens instead of just merely looking for capital appreciation- that way, you need to put hours into researching the concept, which guarantees enough due diligence and saves one from rushing into a decision that one may regret

Pretty solid advice. I'm here now and trying to inch my way forward and yet I'm obviously bummed out on opportunities I missed.
However, your words just put things into perspective.

Yes, the climb may be more difficult now, but it will just make it more worthwhile. Thanks!

I like the mindset. Do not regret the past. We are living in this present moment so take advantage of that. Brilliant
