Title: Did something happen in April? What influenced the price of etherium?
Post by: PurpleDog on August 16, 2017, 08:30:25 AM
Looking at the charts of etherium and litecoin, there has been a major boom in April.

Can anyone help me understand
a) what happened in April?
b) what is the reason that the price of etherium mulitplied that much?
c) what do they mean when they say that the price of etherium has been infulenced by ICOs?
d) what is the reason that the price of litecoin multiplied that much?

thanks

Every shitcoin got pumped AF in April, nobody nows why, some worldwide FOMO happened.

Ethereum pump could be caused by the new increase in ERC20 tokens, litecoin got SegWit before bitcoin, it got a huge pump from that.

You missed the spring madness yes? That was the period when a lot of ICOs suddenly sprang up, and most of them were using tokens on Ethereum blockchain. Bonuses were also given out for ETH users in some ICOs. Basically, demand for ETH accepting ICOs made the price jump.

Then again, all the alts were rising after BTC finally reached old ATH and broke it. Every crypto just enjoyed the ride.

There is a lot of factors :
 - the stress about the btc fork rumors (Will Bitcoin dy ?)
 - the boom of all the cryptos
 - the rush of the miners on ETH (principaly AMD miners)

... but the true question is not "what appened in april", but "Why the Ethereum shitcoin is so high ?".

Where is the so promised PoS ? It never come because it is technically impossible.
What about the multiple cracks on Ethereum projects (DAO and so on) ?
What about all the difficulties in the Ethereum blockchain during some "big" ICO ?

You mean fear of missing out? But why? There's plenty of supply. Also, even it that's the case, the question would be, what caused that FOMO?

What was the date of SegWit on litecoin? Was it April? I thought it was later on.

You missed the spring madness yes? That was the period when a lot of ICOs suddenly sprang up, and most of them were using tokens on Ethereum blockchain. Bonuses were also given out for ETH users in some ICOs. Basically, demand for ETH accepting ICOs made the price jump.

So this is what they mean when they claim that the etherium rise has been connected to ICOs. Well, it that's the case, that would explain the rise of etherium, indeed.

we are expecting another altcoin run in September

Based on what? And why in September?

Cryptoworld became more popular and more investors are joining to market. That is why not only etherium or ltc but many altcoins raised so fast after march.
Ethereum infulenced by icos because project owners can dump ethereum because they have many of them...
