Well, haven't heard. 100% another shitcoin created from a creative imagination of a scamming mind.

imo filecoin is something like storj / siacoin / burst. Them getting 200 million on ICO is overhyped

I heard about that. But looking at it, there is nothing really that differentiate it from other coins like storj or siacoin. They are claiming that they will give better return for miners, but still for that they need buyers first and it's not most common thing now to buy decentralized storage.

Most people don't realize the money they raised was only accredited investors. They probably already had relations with these investors and had them contribute via this method so they could get good publicity and general audience interest in their coin for aftermarket trading.

Hats off to them since it certainly raised a lot of buzz.

Sounds like another Siacoin. The crypto market is flooded with coins, ICOs, and all this other stuff. There isn't enough space for all of them. Investors are most likely just throwing away their money when they invest in 90% of these.

It's just another token on the blockchain. There can be a profit for early investors if they knew when to dump the coins. But if you want to stay safer, don't play with tokens.

The developers behind Filecoin have been working on IPFS for a long time before the coin was released to the public. They are doing a good job, and with the funds they get from the ICO, they will become one of the leading decentralized file system out there.

Open Bazaar and Monero will be using IPFS for their own projects.

I dont believe this tech will ever work.
Nothing compared to Google Drive, Dropbox and alike.
Professional cloud storage is crazy cheap already.
And there are already some very advanced open source torrent sync p2p storage projects.
