Title: Sapphire RX470 Mining Edition (4GB Samsung mem) - Total Crap?
Post by: Coyn on August 17, 2017, 04:40:31 PM
Hi there miners,

I just received my first batch of Samsung rx470 4gb Mining Edition cards. They where sold to most of us with the promise of being REAL good cards for mining.. well ehh... probably NOT.
After testing without modding the bios i noticed that the cards where completely unstable if mem was higher than 1975-2000.
After modding the bios (samsung mem) straps to 1750+ --> 2000. I was quite suprised that the cards only reached 27.2 MH/s with mem & core on 1975/1150.

Trying them any higher they will crash after 1-2 minutes, on windows and linux.

Does anyone has a good idea getting these cards faster, more stable and more energy efficient?

Here is my original rom: https://ufile.io/3mhhn

Hopefully some of you can mod better than me and suprise us :)

In case you haven't tried this already try downloading the specific driver for the mining edition card.

Go to the AMD website and download the driver 17.7.1 which fully supports the mining editions.
