This thread has nothing to do with services or bitcoin, so it should be move to off topic.

You can change the app info by long tapping the app and dragging it to "info".

hi i download app from google play

........apk

is there possible way to change this apk file name and icon ?

example :

if i download facebook.apk  can change name and icon to be  anything.apk then install it  when user click on it open facebook but installed app name not facebook

I missed my Android days because of this post where everyday Im doing some modifications of SystemUi (signal icons, data, wifi, toggles) etc, Frameworks (batteries, percentage etc), icons (name, handler modifications etc). Yes it's possible and I think right now it's more easier than in the past where the most common tool used was decompiling and it needs only PC. In ICON change you just extract the .apk file and find the icon location (sometimes at framework res folder) and extract it again then signed it.

Ok let's go now to easy method. Heard of APKTOOL? Search it as lots of instructions where already available in the net compare to the time Im doing modifications. You can do ICON and NAME change there and not just that. Just give it a check.

This is right, since I'm doing this also before as a hobby, I tell you that your phone is at risk and it can be boot loop, but of course you need to backup first before doing anything stupid, but you forgot to tell OP, that before you can do that if you are using your Android on modifications, your Android phone must be rooted first.

Oh yes thanks. Being rooted was a prerequisite "if" things will be done mostly on Android. Also it's a must that the phone is rooted if someone wants to learn modifications so that permissions was maximized and people can do all they want.

If a person wants to modify apps without rooting their phone, they can edit the app using a PC application called APK EDIT.

OP is talking about direct app changed so if ever another person will installed that apk file, the icon and name is different. I don't know what's OP's up to but that is common thing now especially for Handler Apps grabbing credits to the original owner.

sorry  cause that is the only  simple step that i know.. so  yeah hi Op if you want to change the icon and the name direct on your device that was not easy without rooting .so first root your phone. And i recommend to make some backup first if anything will happen you can easily restore it..   and this kind of work it can cost lot of time . . I suggest to do some research  on google or youtube theres alot of tutorial on how to change name and icon of apps.  So that you know what to do. Best regards

Here is one of the best  Apk editor (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details%3Fid%3Dcom.gmail.heagoo.apkeditor%26hl%3Den%26referrer%3Dutm_source%253Dgoogle%2526utm_medium%253Dorganic%2526utm_term%253Drename%2Bapk%2Bfile%26pcampaignid%3DAPPU_1_O1eaWZDHJcHhvATMkJLAAQ&ved=0ahUKEwjQ0MXstOfVAhXBMI8KHUyIBBgQ8oQBCCcwAQ&usg=AFQjCNFA2aAA-Io6NO4lwV2q0am5TYvrXw) you will ever need.
It can do everything depends on how you use it.For editor to work properly, you need to be a little professional and skilled in developer field. You can also find examples on its use in their help page inside the app.

You can easily find many apk editors out there. There is an app called apk editor and you can edit your icon to size of aplication icon. This is quite easy these days and if you need any help there is always the lord of all queries called google.

Almost 90% of what you posted was already mentioned and posted from different users on above posts, there's no need to repeat again the same answers in order to make a post. Since OP didn't reply on this thread I wonder if he posted on different android forums like XDA-developers or android central to answers his question and get some knowledge to do what is needed.
