I wish! Unfortunately, no. If you want to use a bunch of different altcoins and tokens you will need to download the respective wallet clients for each one, which can be a pain but that is how it is.

It would be nice if there was a universal crypto wallet that could hold every coin/token. Oh well.

There is software available that can contain multiple coins, for example https://coinomi.com/ (https://coinomi.com/)

There are some wallets which supports multiple coins: Jaxx, Exodus, Coinomi, Trezor hardware wallet, several online wallets. But there are no wallet, where you can keep all existing altcoins. I think it would be complicated to create such wallet, it requires much resources to run it with hundreds of coins. Currently, multicoin wallet devs are adding only stable and popular coins. It's not worth to support hundreds of shitcoins.

Hey, thanks for posting this. I am going to give it a look as I need something that can hold multiple coins instead of wasting my computer space.

When ever the wish occurs to put all eggs into one single basket ... I got reminded of that old saying about putting all eggs into one single basket!
Honestly, exchangers occasionally are goxxing, that's a given. But we dont need no more additional fault lines.

Actually already a wallet is available to put the bitcoin and altcoins at the single account ,  According to my mind sharpness about two wallets are available out of them coinomi is best ( may be few altcoin may not support ) .
But herr in my opinion it is not a better option for us because if all the coins will be at the single place then trading will get stuck because people will remain more active with the direct analysis , so more better for us that not every coin should be available at a single place and make the market of the cryptocurrency like the moderate competition field .
And also you can see the developer of the single account of holder of many coin can't manage easily ( as we can see even at bug exchange 20% Wallets of altcoins remain under maintenance )

The bottom line is there isn't any exchange currently available - or client for that matter - where you can store ALL coins. It just simply doesn't exist. ETH wallet can handle tokens, so that works for ICOs, and Coinimi works great for most established altcoins. If neither of these work, the only option left is downloading the individual wallet client of each coin. As you say, this is probably for the best as it is never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket. :P

If your asking to include all crypto currencies in single wallet, it was good to have to easily access all of your coins,

however, it would be result in a great pain, it would consume more space and resources on your device, the updates and management for the new and dump coins could be headache.

there are no universal wallet for reason AFAIK, if there were universal wallet the type of altcoin would be centralized like only bitcoin could be used. as well, most likely to synchronize those blockchain would take you years if your computer does not work fast.

Exchanges, perhaps? If you are to store altcoins and btc in a single wallet, you are putting yourself into a big risk of being hacked. One single file can cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars down the drain. It's best to just keep these coins in their own wallets for you to be safe and have a proper management to your coins as well.

That would be a good idea but I am sure that putting up all the programming and infrastructure can be hefty and could take a long time to put up. I am so sure that there are already people who are also thinking of the same idea but I guess this is not an easy task to accomplish. Plus there are always the concern on security which is actually the top priority and when you have a big field to watch for there is a big tendency for lapses and weaknesses. However, hope there will really be a service like this for convenience of all crypto enthusiasts.

Well we don't have but I wish we have one. A universal wallet. What would be the good effect if we have one? Well the fee would be null. The fee only applies when you are to pass money from wallet to external wallet. That would be the cause of the fee. And another good effect on having one, we will treat it as the most trustable wallet there is.

I wish that we may have a universal wallet to all cryptocurrency. But, it may have a bad side. well, since its a universal wallet it's centralized but, still it may always depend on the developer on that kind of wallet.

There was a wallet for BTC and ETH at the same time but I've heared that is is centralized and someone was scammed by it's developers so be carefull while choosing a wallet :)
Also due to youtube overview different hardware wallets also support at least BTC + ETH. That would be a safer choice.

Not a universal but multiwallet which hold different cryptocurrency assets. there's wallet providers that supports both btc and other altcoin like exodus, jaxx, and I've heard of holytransaction as well.

I think you are talking about multicoin wallet, if yes than there are many such wallets which we can use to store multiple altcoins along with bitcoin in one wallet. One of my favorite is jaxx, some of the other similar wallets are exodus, freewallet, coinomi etc.

Jaxx gives complete control over our crypto so I love them.

There are several wallets which can store multiple coins at a time but there isn't any such universal wallet which can store bitcoin with every altcoin, there are more than thousand cryptocurrencies in the market and day by day many new cruptocurrencies are emerging in the market  so it would be somehow difficult to make such complex wallet which support all type of coins.

Best I know are the exchanges, if you are talking about small amounts then it shouldn't be a problem to keep them on a exchange. That's the easiest way to store all altcoins in pace. As fsr as know I don't think there is any single wallet that allows you to have access to multiple altcoins which private keys.

Title: Re: Do we have a universal wallet?

As far as I know there is none at the moment. However, I think there are some wallets who supports and accepts multiple cryptocurrencies, but not all. In fact, in my country, only Bitcoin is being accepted by the most used wallet in the country. And with that, it makes Bitcoin something that dominates the market. However, the idea is also good of this. It would be convinient to many if there will be a wallet thst accepts all currencies not only the cryprocurrencies, but also the real currencies one. It is not actually hard to do since the rates can be applied there as well.

Just to add more information to the readers on this, while exchanges do support a big number of altcoins, it's just simply very unsafe to store your cryptocurrencies on exchanges. Exchanges are always a target for hackers as the profit they can get when successfully hacking an exchange will be very big. Don't let history repeat itself. if it is for android phone wallet, then i am suggesting to use coinomi (https://coinomi.com), coinpayment (https://www.coinpayments.net) and jaxx (https://jaxx.io). but coinomi and coinpayment have a lots of coins inside the wallet. jaxx can also use for computer by downloading the software.

i am not recommend to save your coins in exchanges because we need to safe our coins from attackers. beside that, if we are saving our coins in private wallet, we are holding for a long term and waiting the price is increase.

There are quite a number of companies which created wallets that are capable of storing multiple crypto-currency in it, but most of this wallets are just for storing the coins and doing transactions, It would be good to have a universal wallet that would allow users to easily buy and sell multiple altcoins.

You can store bitcoin and some other altcoin in coinnomi but not all altcoin in existence. The number of altcoin is too large so that kind of universal wallet is impossible. You can try to buy vps and put your wallets there if there's not enough space on your pc.

There are several sites which allow multiple coins deposits but all of them are either exchanges or web wallets.
Such sites are not recommended if you wanna hold coins for long as you aren't true owner in case. Better use dedicated wallets as launch by concern cryptocurrency to hold coins.

Well, I think there is no universal wallet but there are may wallets that you can use to keep bitcoin safe and secure. In addiiton to that, you can also use hardware wallet or cold storage to keep your bitcoin safe and you need to install it to your computer. Lastly,  I hope there will be universal wallet.

We sadly don't, it requires a lot of work to implement support for other coins in a wallet. If you own many different coins, it may become a hassle to deal with. I'd suggest you creating a shortcut of every wallet in a separate folder on your desktop, and rename them to whatever coin it handles (not the name of the wallet as it can be confusing).

Like jaxx there may be other universal wallets. I am using block chain wallet for holding my bitcoin. But as you mention that people should not keep all their bitcoin in one wallet. It may be hacked or stolen. So it is better to have more than one wallet for the security of your bitcoin.

Universal wallet is necessary for bitcoin because if you want to buy something so you will be able to pay from your universal wallet easily.

There are a couple that try but there are none that are going to absolutely be a universal wallet. You do understand if there's over 50,000 coins out there right? These include just a little tiny Forks that never got off the ground and we never touched all the way up to full fledged Forks. There is no way that any computer is going to be able to handle  all of those at the same time.

Yes we have!!
I think the closest wallet to fulfill the requirements is waves wallet.
The Waves platform is described as a Open Blockchain platform, one that takes the functionalities of Bitcoin and extends them further beyond the simple application of value transfer. The idea is not to create a replacement for Bitcoin, but rather a platform where Bitcoin, cryptos, fiat currencies, and all types of real-world commodities and assets can be issued, transferred and exchanged in a fully decentralized manner.

But not all of coins supported right now, it's a decentralized exchanges as well, so it still on developing and may add more coins.
Here the list of coins that supported by waves platform https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/waves-dex/

No, there are too many altcoins and there is no single wallet that is able to hold all of those altcoins. I know, it is hard to manage too many wallets but it is safer to use many than a single wallet.

Unfortunately, no. If you want to keep bitcoin you have to add it to bitcoin wallet, if you want to keep ETH the same that you have to get an ETH wallet. Well, i do hope there is a universal wallet to keep bitcoin and other altcoins, that is very convenient for a way, but you will lose everything if you get hacked or you lost. So it is better to have more than one wallet for the security of your bitcoin as well as other altcoins.

We dont have any universal wallet because there are still many altcoins which are not supported by many wallets. But we do have multi asset wallet and they are like COINOMI,TREZOR and EXODUS. Out of these three multi asset wallet i will go to prefer with TREZOR and COINOMI as it is Hd, light weight and very secure. Other than this i dont think there is something available which will solve our problems for storing all coins under one roof. Actually its a tough and complex job to store all coins under one single wallet, which require tons of resources and space to store it and i think its not wise decision to store all the unnecessary coins together with valued one's . ???  ;D

Many of the altcoins are not supported by a single wallet.
Security issues in many digital wallets.
Storage issues with many wallets.

Bitcoin and altcoin same wallet? Nah, and it would be kind of bad and good at the same time, for receiving payments everyone would like to have a single wallet and receive all coins in it instead of having more than 3 -4 wallets, but at the same time every thing will be so conjusted if all coins are there in a wallet.  Sometimes it's better for the things to be the same old way.

As far as i know there is none yet.
And if there is indeed on wallet that could cater multiple coins at the same address I may still no use it.
I dont want to rely on a single wallet for holding all my different coins..
Its just too risky for me....
There are even times when i have a large amount of coins i prefer to divide them on separate addresses.
Just wanted to be sure and safe...

As of the moment there is a bunch of online wallets that can do that like Coinbase but it is only like less than 5 cryptocurrencies is in their service, but if you really want only an address that you can change bitcoins to altcoins and vice versa then you can use exchanges for that because you can trade there in an instant. but you can't hold the private keys when you are in exchanges so creating a local/online bitcoin wallet will help to secure your coins.

What do you mean universal wallet? Do you mean a wallet which you can use anywhere in the world or a wallet in which you can store any altcoin?

If you meant the former, then I am pretty sure that all wallets are universal in this sense. It depends in your country has banned Bitcoin associated activities or not. But it does not really matter. If you have the wallet address of the person that you want to send your Bitcoin to, no matter what wallet the “receivee” uses, he/she will still get the Bitcoin.

If you meant the latter, then I don’t think there is. I mean unless you count the wallets made and managed by exchanges as wallets, I don’t think there is such a universal wallet.
