Title: Question about Ethereum Classic
Post by: nndep3m on August 18, 2017, 07:54:08 PM
Is Ether Classic updated with all the Ether/Tokens distributed from all the ICOs currently happening (since its fork), or does it now contain its own unique balances that don't include any of these famous ICOs?

If it's the latter.. then realistically how could the platform ever gain adoptability with so many hundreds of millions being invested into new companies that are held in Ether instead of Ether classic? Even if it has a better principle/philosophy, it would still seem impossible for it to now take off especially with all the recent ICO hype, but it's still trading for a reasonable price on exchanges instead of 0?

It would be different to Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash since those currencies are used as fund storage/hedges.. whereas Ether has now been used to fund some famous startups.

Any token that wasn't on the Ethereum chain pre-fork will not automatically be on the ETC chain if it was put on the ETH chain. Anything on the chain pre-fork will be on both chains, though

Nope they only really share the same name now - they are about as different as Bitcoin and Ethereum are now. Two separate coins roaming the cold dark world of the cryptocurrency markets ready to be swept up into someones wallet and forgot about for days on end.  ;D
