Title: Bit grenade
Post by: Monetizer on May 19, 2013, 01:27:29 PM
For those who don't know,
http://www.bitgrenade.net/ is a reasonably new hot potatoe stile site. It supports multiple coins and the chance of winning is very high.

The way it works is you purchase a bomb which then you can sell to others for more. The only catch is there is an amount of time in which you must get rid of the bomb or it will explode.

(Please. I highly recommend buying the GLD RPG :p (If someone would it would make my day and I will give you all profits)

Or maybe your getting a false positive. Because I don't either and if you have "a lot of security" or multiple programs one may give you a false positive.

working with WLD as well, just wish more people would play it...seems it goes a few times and people give up, or just take early profit and dont keep passing it around.

Lol.. this looks like it could be a lot of fun.. unless you're the last one ;)

Wouldn't this work better if the consolation prizes were higher?

Great site I love it !

+1 for higher consolation prizes should be at least one 100% on the board for each coin

Yeah, good idea, or maybe fix the site profit at something like 5% and drop the rest into the consolation prize?

The site is a scam, or the concept?

I've been playing with it for a few days and so far every payment has been processed perfectly.

The site does have a "house edge" in the sense that prices escalate faster than profit payouts.

That said, the house edge can be overcome by smart play.  It is essentially a game of "hot potato", not dissimilar to the stock market, where everyone bids up values for profit and eventually someone is left holding the bag.

The bag holders are going to scream "SCAM!" but, of course, that is part of the game.  If you're the last guy at the end of the profit chain and your grenade blows up all you get is the consolation prize

BTW, does anyone know the odds involved in this kind of "Chain Game" / "Hot Potato" games?

I mean: at least an estimation about the gambler's odds and the house's odds.

It seems that game is not 50/50, right?

Is it, at least, +EV (positive expected value) for the gambler?

Is there any documentation about that topic around?

Maybe that could be included in the FAQ section of Bit Grenade.
