what's your strategy ??

I will sell the alt coin and wait for dump to buy again. Unless it is those altcoins I want to keep for longer term

I will be ready to buy some potential atl coin when the price is much lower then I expected, I would like to be a long term investor. BTW, I do not think it will pump hard in the next some days.

actualy if i see my hold coin pump 4x or more i will never think twice i  sell it all directly and i will wait for correction i know it will dump  then i will buy again.

Sometimes I set a stoploss if possible

I often set a price for my coins, when it reach my price, I will sell them all , then to find another coin.
But for long term invest, I buy them back and hold for years, never care its price.

I sell part of the investment to get back the original investment amount and purchase another coin with that investment. The profits made would still be in the pumped coin and I will gradually sell it based on the price movement. This way I am only playing with the profit money and am not risking the original capital.

It depends on what coin it is, if you see a reawon for the pump, i.e it's a good coin, good development team, has potential to grow even more, then you either sell a part or none at all. If its a shitcoin that you don't even know why the prices are up then you sell it all

If it is merely speculation I dump and don't look back anymore. If it is already good project I sell to rebuy lately or just wait for for even better prices.

It's always hard to decide when to sell, you never know is the price reached the top, or if it's going 10x higher. I usually don't do any short-term trading like this, it's stressfull :D

That is right, but the OP means that the price dumps hard, I think even some long term investors will choose to sell some coins and buy them back at a lower price. 

Sell for a nice profit,move to another project.That's my strategy,time waits for no man, time is money.

During my observation not all altcoin pump hard, just some alt only.
If altcoin pump hard I do not dare to buy, because the risk of losing is very big. I'd better wait and look for other altcoin.

I would consider buying the altcoin to be pumped and would sell if the altcoin showed a downward trend, which would make me feel safer because the altcoin usually did not pump well in the short term.

you are asking this probably because you have not made up your mind yet!
the first step is to decide what you want to do and why you are doing it.

most of us here are only buying altcoins to get the profit we are looking for. in other words to make more bitcoin. and because of that we dump the coins as soon as they get pumped hard and move on to the next altcoin to join in their pump and make profit and do the same.

at the end of the day it is only bitcoin that remains strong and goes up again. so it is best to have more of it before it is too late and BTC is worth $100K or something.

Depends on what's our goal on that particular altcoin. Me, i categorize my altcoin in three different categories.

1.) Shorterm trade altcoins
2.) Mid term trade altcoins
3.) Long term trade altcoins.

I list some altcoins and analyze to study them. Then i list them to what category they suits.
Usually i go for longterm trade because it's less risky. For short term and mid term trades. I usually get signals from the group i joined recently. It's hard predict which altcoin will pump. So i study and research also what altcoins might pump this week or sooner. I dump them quickly as soon as the coin drops. That's the bad thing about short term. You must learn the timing when to buy and to sell to maximize the profit. Sometimes i miss calculate and i loss huge amount.

For me it depends. There are some altcoins I hodl for longterm, these I have offline and some are on exchange for trading.
I think this double-strategy is the only way, because I do not think all the altcoins are pump and dumps.
I think some of them are here to stay.

It depends on coin & token. If a coin has a good team and a lot of coming development in his roadmap, I prefer to hold it, if it is somewhat suspicious coin, I sell some or all of it.

Just sell my coin and in this day i've made over %100 from zrx token, i meant 0xproject token, and i can buy it now with the cheap price. because you are not know about what will be happening in the future. Just sell your token and take your profit and you can put it in bottom again.

If there is a price increase, of course I will sell it to get some profit and buy back when the price is down, should not use all your money to buy a coin buy in stages to anticipate the drastic price reduction  :)

It depends on the coin, because some of the coins have unique technology which can be more profit in the future. Some of the projects have potential on some point  and better to sell this coins when they are hitting big price

I now deside just to keep alt at my wallets and that is.
I now long-term invest.
But this is best strategy :) If have patient - you will be millionaire!

As most of others doing, when altcoin pumps hard, exactly I will sell it and buy some other dump altcoins. When that coin dumps, I will buy it again and keep long term to earn more profit until it get pumped.

I sell coins not completely but some keep it in hold recently I sold bqx for very less value then after its pumped around 10 x and also mco . Now I made strategy if it pumped hard I will sell part by part like 10% each part.

yesterday i sold my bch at 400€ and now ir is 650€, you never know
if you wait too long it can stop if you act now mmaybe it continues to increase

That is what all of us would probably do if we see that altcoin pumps hardly of course me that what i do if i see and experience that. And buy another dump coin and thats it another monitoring for that coin

If I see long term potential, I sell at the possible top and buy back at the bottom.

if the pumped coin is my short time investment I mostly close my position and sell. But for long term ones i always hold and wait. Because selling can cause me to out of the train and maybe i can not jump on that train again.  ;D

It depends on the coin. I am holding some altcoins. I have invested in some of them for long-term and I won't sell them in any case. For example I have invested in Ethereum, Litecoin and waves for long-term. If I see Litecoin price rise even 10x in one day, I won't sell that. But I have some coins with low market cap and with a low rank in coinmarketcap. I will sell them when I can make some profit.

I only keep holding when i have coins i have collected from an ICO or undervalued project I  believe still have potential to grow

The altcoin usually increases up and down. It is important to know how to buy at the bottom and sell at the top of the wave to buy and sell properly. If you do not want to follow the daily altcoin you can invest it long term.

I sell in stages as the price goes up. Holding is not a good strategy with alts, most get pumped and dumped dramatically, and yes, you could wait for another pump to cash out, but you could be waiting a year.

do you mean "top of the wave" is same with "24 hours highest price" ?

It depends on why I bought the coin in the first place.
If I'm into it for the long term because I believe in the project I will only sell at huge spikes just to buy back more on the coming correction. Otherwise, if a coin I just bought for short / mid term profit is rising unexpectedly, well, I'll will bank my money.

I will sell it during the pump. And will again, buy during the dump. Will also check altcoins that has potential to grow based on each of its market value and market demand. There are lots of Alt coins, you are free to choose which would you want to invest. To sum it up, If one of the altcoins that I have pump, I will sell it at that moment and will wait for the dump to buy again to make my profit from altcoin bigger and continuous like a cycle.

I'll probably try to ride that pump. For altcoins, i'm nit really that confident in holding for a long time, well except maybe for ether and ripple. I try asuch as possible to concentrate on a coin's lowest entry point and go from there. If it pumps hard, i'll consider myself fortunate because automatically that's profit for me.

I think this is a trivial question, if everything is fine it's an excuse to sell them, and invest them in the cue ball and not in the viola, or spend that money on buying a new more deshovy alta and also wait for its growth, and then collect the profits
