I think investing in bitcoin companies is a MUCH better hedge than buying alt crypto.

1) You help the bitcoin ecosystem by providing capital to smart people doing good things for bitcoin
2) Dividends!
3) If bitcoin goes down a lot,you can cash out more BTC
3) Its very likely that the share price will drop as bitcoin makes new highs,  BUT you can buy cheap coins and invest right away,  that way its like you paid $_$ for a good investment, even if the share price goes down because your other investment went up alot (BITCOIN) your account will undoubtedly be +5-50% in $ terms,
5) You get to buy bitcoin and then buy stock of your choice; Fun!

I hope a good buying opportunity presents itself on this on, VTX does not pay dividends, but your buying a pieces of what must be the #1 exchange in the world, ( i took 7 mins to do a deposit, or 1.249days if you do it with the convenience of online banking pay bill, and withdraw takes a  few hours really  :D!

their isn't That much volume, but VirtEx obviously making money and will continue to grow exponentially as they roll out their merchant api and bitcoin shorting! the trading GUI will get better too, soon we will be able to place trigger orders.

VirtEx is serious business that has all this legal paper work squared away.

Nothing about the HIM fund? I've had quite a few of these since IPO and I'm awaiting their 28 singles to be shipped. Preordered on the second day of preorders we extremely close to the front of the line to receive an increase of 72x the current hashing power.

Libertybit only has 0.5% fees. It might take some time, but I can see where the market will go.

I like the idea of asicm, but to be honest I'm just super, über, ultra skittish about putting my money into investments like this (havelock included) as historically things have not worked out well at all.  I'll do some research, but unfortunately the huge list of scams and collapsing businesses has made it very hard for me to want to part with my coins.

I will not buy any XRP from you. So in my perspective your XRP are worth nothing. But maybe you will found buyer.(if they are for free, you can only win ... but somebody will lose)

In a sense with speculating somebody always looses.
They aren't really for sale, just wanting to mention they make a pretty damn good BTC hedge. I realize Ripple is under a lot of criticism, but how I see it so was LTC and that is doing pretty well.

By that logic I should buy Feathercoin.

I sold my free XRP for BTC1 and still think that was a lot. Offering BTC8.7 is borderline moronic. Future value of XRP should be very low indeed as it offers no upside over fiat currency.

Well that's what they trade for Bitstamp IOUs. The idiots trying to snatch some via PM cheap and sell them there are quite annoying BTW.

Yes, buy Bitcoins to the point were you hold an adequate percentage of your portfolio (adequate depends on your risk tolerance) and then continue to buy more each month with a static portion of your wages (dollar cost averaging).

Whether stock investments are good depends on the particular stocks. All Bitcoin related stocks will share some risks with he Bitcoin asset though and this must be weighed into the decision to invest or not. Definitely also hold shares in companies unrelated to Bitcoin.

As a real estate agent, it is ALWAYS a good time to buy a house too!  ;)  As long as the long term value is there the advice is probably true. 

However, in real estate, there could always be a natural disaster that could ruin a home.  The same goes with BTC.  Something down the road could lead to its demise, but it certainly worth trying for sure!

Or if you prefer to invest in businesses instead of real estate. I don't want to own real estate because I believe it is overpriced where I live. Rent is overpriced too but I like to sleep indoors and this way at least I don't have to hold an overpriced asset more expensive than my net worth. I think it is ridiculous our entire society thinks it's normal to make leveraged investments in real estate (better known as mortgage).
