Unfortunately the bitcoin chain (and the others) are a tad over difficulty for any CPU mining. All of the info to start mining is on the mmpool page though, generally I do something as simple as:
cgminer.exe or ./cgminer (I use Linux) and then: cgminer -o mmpool.bitparking.com:3333 -u shakezula -p x and that's it.
