Title: BCC redemption issue/confusion
Post by: vhatch on August 20, 2017, 01:21:52 AM
I'm attempting to claim my BCC today (motivated by price increase).  So I moved my balance in electrum to a new wallet, then used the original seed in Electron Cash to claim the original wallet that I had in Electrum on Aug 1st.  Everything seemed to be working as intended.  However I'm a little freaking out now.

Transactions made in Electrum after August 1st are showing as "Unconfirmed" or "Unconfirmed parent" in the Electron Cash wallet, including the full balance transfer to the new wallet.  Thus the total balance showing in Electron Cash is ZERO.

Anybody have input on what happened and if I can fix it, or do I just wait for unconfirmed to "timeout" or something...??

Thanks!

from the menu choose Tools > Network or just click on the circle on the bottom right corner of the wallet window. this opens your network window. there deselect the checkbox saying "Select server automatically" and then choose a bitcoin cash server from the (now enabled) list.

these servers either have cash or bitcoin abc in them.
give it some time or restart electron cash, i believe that should fix your problem.

- Make sure ElectronCash is connected to a BCH server
- Close ElectronCash
- Go into the ElectronCash data directory (C:\users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\ElectronCash) and delete the "blockchain_headers" file
- Restart ElectronCash

That'll get rid of all the old BTC data it will have copied from your Electrum install and refresh all the transactions etc

Thanks for the responses!  I came home tonight and the issue looks to have resolved itself so I probably won't mess with anything :)
