Title: help with ASICMiner Block Erupter Blade
Post by: stslimited on May 19, 2013, 10:14:01 PM
I think my block erupter blade is resetting and not actually doing anything

from ping test: 578 packets transmitted, 545 packets received, 5.7% packet loss

Clock selected: Low
Chip: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

They reset automatically after a period of not doing anything as a kind of failsafe.

You can ping it so network looks ok. The loss is probably just it rebooting, wouldn't worry about that for now.

You need to use port 8337 for getwork on Eligius: http://eligius.st/wiki/index.php/Getting_Started

These blades don't do stratum, I'd recommend a local stratum proxy for optimum performance.

ohhhh I misunderstood Dogie's tutorial then, I thought stratum proxy = stratum, what is a stratum proxy then, how do I set that up!

okay, I'm going to pass on the stratum for now, I want to see my 13000 megahashes or at least a sign of it doing something! I changed the server settings and port and still this

This does not seem to work in the server address section:

http://mining.eligius.st:8337 -u <MYaddress> -p x

Any ideas?

I have these 3 fields:

______________________________________________________

Ports
Server addresses
user:pass

I've tried lots of stuff like these

Ports: 8337,8337
Server addresses: http://mining.eligius.st:8337
user:pass: <address>:<password>

Ports: 8337,8337
Server addresses: http://mining.eligius.st:8337
user:pass: -u <address> -p x:<password>

______________________________________________________

But it just keeps resetting the Server field to 192.168.1.2,USPA=<address>

Remove the inverted commas!
Set the ports to be "8337,8337"
Server addressses: "mining.eligius.st,mining.eligius.st" (do not place the ports or the http:// prefix on them)
user:pass: "<username>:<password>,<username>:<password>"

dont use pool adress directly!

instead use stratum proxy.

Just curious, why not?

Stratum has less stales as it involves the worker requesting work from the server, instead of the pool asking the miner if it wants work. It also reduces bandwidth on the pool servers.
