When I hear other Crypto organizers saying things like "Our coins will overtake bitcoin" it makes me start wondering how possible that could be comparing the popularity rate of BITCOINS, years, market cap. and value bitcoin holds. So I ask, will bitcoin value ever be overpowered by other Cryptos?

absolutely not. they are all weak coins and mostly are shitcoins created to get pump and dumped and nothing more.
they have no technology, they can not compete at bitcoin's level with this many number of transactions.

it is possible. there are always innovations that can compete with bitcoin. the fact that nothing has been created so far and the alt devs are idiot kids doesn't mean things won't change in the future.

but one thing is for sure, when you see then advertising an altcoin as "replacing bitcoin" be sure that they are just pumping it temporarily and they want profit.

Whats the definition of value here? If we are simply talking about the marketcap then I believe it's very possible however If we speak about the number of users, ATMs, online merchants, local shops accepting it etc. I doubt they will get there and having LN coming soon make me even more confident.

We know bitcoin has covered a bigger marked globally
so i think it is possible if people follow some altcoin more than btc but it is a long process involving deal for any alt coin to become overpowered hereafter.

My answer is its possible. But it will happen not because of other altcoins becoming better and more valuable. It will be because of the politics that has been going on with the BTC developers and businesses and the disunity in the community.

The fork to Segwit2x this November could lead us to a total of 4 Bitcoins. The legacy chain, the 2x chain, the POW upgraded chain and BCC.

In today's condition,i think its hardly not possible for any altcoin to do so.In today's market,most coins are just pumped and dumped.Coin devs give such statements that their coins would overtake bitcoins just to show their coin as worthful.They themselves know very well that their coin is not going to achieve such things.Even the once most expected coins like ethereum,monero,zcash have failed to deliver expected results.But yet there are some new promising coins coming .Bitcoin has gained trust among investors all over the world.Being a decentralized currency with no governing body,its a great achievement by bitcoin and it is not easy for any other coin to achieve so.In future,we would have to wait and see whether such coins come in to the market or not.

It is very possible. However, it will be a long journey. And in my opinion it does not undermined bitcoin's core tech. A lot of people will equate to "the higher the value, the better and value it is". That might be the case for some, but that is not always the case. People can just pump some random altcoin just to prove this point. Who cares, use what is useful to you.

Many have promised that , yet no one have achieved it. That is reason enough for me to believe that no other crypto will ever be more valuable than bitcoin. Personally I don't need any more features than bitcoin has so I am not interested in other coins which may have more features, i.e full anonymity and cannot be tracked.

I have seen many Altcoins that are better than Bitcoin in terms of technology, security, speed and fees. But none is able to reach even half the popularity of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has became a generic name of cryptocurrencies. It enjoys the first mover advantage. People get into other Altcoins through Bitcoin and hence if other coins will grow in future, Bitcoin will grow along.

Quite possible,there are people who hate bitcoin and there are people who love bitcoin.So these kind of people will choose another crypto-currency to crypto either because they hate bitcoin and tired of it/ because a better crytpo-currency than bitcoin is actually created,so they prefer that so and so crypto than bitcoin.

Currently it may not look so. Bitcoin keeps growing stronger whilst smashing records for price. But I wouldn't rule it out, there are some altcoins that are as good as bitcoin technically, if not better. Who knows? Never say never.

Other crypto or altcoins coming to be an overtake of bitcoin, that is not going to be easy. Bitcoin cash is now a threat even to ethereum cause most people are saying it will come to replace ethereum and if that happens, then bitcoin will have to worry of been overtaken.

Alts were important depending on their Projects objective, btc maybe lots of benefits but sone alts can be used to make those transactions more efficient and cheaper. Btc still needs alts since it may crash if too overload with pending transactions.

In order to get more real value than Bitcoin, someone needs to present a better network - faster, cheaper, more secure and more private. So far no altcoin has solved any of Bitcoin's problem without creating tradeoffs between those properties. All new features like privacy or more transaction per second come with a price of higher node requirements in terms of RAM, storage space, connection bandwidth. This means that they are less decentralized, and it's harder to trust them with big transactions.

As of now I can't think of any crypto currency over taking bitcoin's value.Past this year mostly all crypto currencies values have raised but not like Bitcoin it has reached a whole new level.No other crypto currency is as good as bitcoin in terms of transactions,decentralization,secure and trust worthy.So it is hard for any cryptocurrency to over take bitcoin at least now ,who knows what could happen in future.

Ofcourse there's a chance because no one knows until when will bitcoin be still the no.1 cryptocurrency. But probably, not this time wherein its price is continuously rising because of the fork happened in August 1 , and also, it is issued that there'll be another hardfork in the month of november that might make Bitcoin market demand and value higher.

Agreed. None of the existing altcoins are real treats to bitcoins' supremacy. Don't get me wrong, I dont believe all altcoins are a scam and a waste of time, some of them got really interesting tech worth your time to get into, but they are not enough of a game changer to get BTC holders selling their coin and felling safe on their investment, knowing that this altcoin is objectively better and will undoubtedly surpass BTC, thus making you rich while keeping your crypto holdings safe.

There is no such thing, and I suspect, we aren't going to see such thing anytime soon, so hold your BTC.

We are not all required to believe what others can be saying for or against any coin! of course, you should understand that most of these people are marketers and promoters (just like me hehehe) so there is always that tendency to exaggerate things to gain the attention or eyeballs needed. Just watch TV and you can see the same technique being employed. Nothing new here.

There is nothing to worry because there will no coming new cryptocurrency that can replace or overpower the mighty Bitcoin. There will be many attempts but all of them will fail, that I am so sure.

I second you on that, many are attempting to replicate Bitcoin in a bid to overtake it one day but their previous attempts has rather been futile and I don't think it is going to be different going forward. There are quite good Altcoins on the market already and I don't think any new coin will be able to over take them or even the better placed Bitcoin.

It might be possible but believe me that it won’t happen ever. If bitcoin has haters then that doesn’t mean that it will be degraded. Infact people like me will always support to keep it up in market and will never allow any other coin to take it over. Whoever uses bitcoin can never imagine to hate it. If people go for other coin then be positive other coin also have haters they will join bitcoin community it can never be stopped by ruling the world.

The value of bitcoin can never and will never be overpowered by the new upcoming coins in the market, if you notice, bitcoin came into the market, long before the other coins ever even thought of coming up and as at that, the coin still holds more value than others.

it may be but I think it's hard and maybe just temporary like ZEC that never exceeds the bitcoin price, and that too only briefly, and that too is very difficult, because bitcoin is the mother of all coin coin others, I do not think too high for that thing.
