The escrow releases the payment to the seller.
Crypto transations are irreversible.That`s why we need escrows.

It is where a 3rd party helps in the process of trade from 1 entity to another.  Bitcoin has no chargeback options you see so if you send some bits to buy something from someone and they dont send you the product there is nothing you can do.  Escrow holds the money until everyone is happy with the trade and then releases it on order.  Escrow usually asks for small fee for their services. Make sure you use reputable escrow as there can be scam escrows aswell.

Very relative answers from both members to your question. Keep in mind that if you deal with someone who is sending you payment through paypal, it still involves risk because paypal allows a buyer to chargeback his money upto 180 days. Escrows do not work in such cases.

Escrow provides extra layer of security when you are dealing with anonymous person from another side of the world.

Keep in mind these escrow services are a bit outdated and needs to update despite them open for escrow.

Few of them ever have the time do these escrow for people so i would try to aim for people on the exchange thread who also has enough rep to act as a escrow party.

Escrows are very helpful when trust can not be established between the 2 parties. Using the escrow as an intermediary prevents the possibility of scam

the escrow is the person who have the budget or fund in the campaign here and a trusted person here like the moderator even the campaign not pay,this is the proof that they pay whatever happen,but dont trust fully the escrow because they can scam you also even they trusted

escrow is the third party person who hold the funds or the stuff for the dealing people such as buying and selling. And Escrow is useful to those who want to buy stuff and also if you dont have trust to the seller person something like that.  But must provide some trusted escrow to avoid scammers cause now adays there are some new escrow but have no trust at all. So choose trusted escrow to avoid loss on your transaction.
