Title: Has anybody used bitFlyer?
Post by: Samarkand on August 21, 2017, 12:06:58 PM
bitFlyer (based in Japan) is currently the exchange with the highest marketshare of all
BTC exchanges.

1   bitFlyer   BTC/JPY   $374,405,000   $4073.27   15.17%   Recently  (Coinmarketcap)

Has anybody used bitFlyer? It is obviously attractive to trade at the exchange with
the highest marketshare and their fee structure looks reasonable.
However I couldn´t find any information, which countries are even accepted.
I know they announced to service certain US states in the last days, but how
is the situation for people based in Europe?
Is it possible to trade at bitFlyer from Europe? Are the verification
requirements reasonable?

I´d be thankful for your experiences.

BitFlyer Europe launched on January 22th.

They were well prepared for that launch, so it is one of the fastest application I did!

Verification was quite done fast as well. Also they answer tickets in less than 24 hours...

So to all Europe people, go sign there... NO FEES until February 28.

Only downside is their low daily volume. They will catch up when more people join.

Yes, the volume is pretty low at the moment.
Only ~5 BTC of trading volume in the last 24 hours is pretty negligible.

Have they already released their fee schedule for the time when the initial
waiver of fees is over?

This is their JPY fees: https://bitflyer.jp/en-jp/Commission?top_link (https://bitflyer.jp/en-jp/Commission?top_link)

They don't have fees either in USA, in February. I guess they will extend the period for their Europe clients in March until they reach a good daily volume.

BTC-JPY 24 hours Volume: 1438.62 Ƀ (241498 Ƀ including all)
BTC-USD 24 hours Volume: 472.72 Ƀ
BTC-EUR 24 hours Volume: 6.14 Ƀ

Note that many users might use free leverage. I wonder if it's calculated into the volume. (should not)

Thank you for the link.

Do they even offer margin trading at the European exchange yet? I know
that they offer up to 15x leverage on their Japanese exchange, but I´m not sure
whether their license in Europe would even allow them to offer anything but a
spot market.

You are correct. After verification they don't have margin/leverage option.
