Failed lols. Why so many people love Bitcoin Cash? Are they paid by Roger Ver to make hype? I can't see whats the use of Bitcoin Cash if we have Bitcoin (BTC)?

Funny. The "longest chain" is measured in blocks weighted by difficulty.

BTC is an alt that doesn't agree with the Satoshi White Paper.  It is a radical departure from the system Satoshi defined.  Bitcoin Cash very nearly agrees with the white paper.  

Why do we need it?  Well, it doesn't have 67,000 stuck transactions and high fees like BTC does.  That is two reasons.  Want more?

But those chains don't have a common genesis block and fork with the other prong.  Long chain is unimportant.  Longest chain after a fork with the shared history is everything. 

This weighted by difficulty is bullshit.  Where does it say that?  That might be what it should say.  But that is not what it says.

Being long chain doesn't mean bitcoincash or any other bitcoin clone will be bitcoin.

I'm not sure what you mean by "that is not what it says" because that is what the nodes check.

Anyway, think about it. If it is not weighted by difficulty, then it would be trivial for somebody to create a longer chain where the difficulty is always 1.

Bitcoin Core - SegWit2X is the alt.  It is a radical deviation from the White Paper.  Please don't forget that again.  

It is radical, because it thinks out of the box. Satoshi was not perfect and you could see that from his original code. {it was

sloppy} ....most of it was replaced or improved by people like Gavin. The "White Paper" was the beginning and not the end

of all code that can be done to improve it. When Satoshi left, he gave Bitcoin to the world and developers have to compete

to come up with the best code to improve his concept/idea and the people then decide what they want to run. People tend to

follow Satoshi as if he was some Biblical God and the White paper the " The Ten Commandments "  ::)

In about 3 hours, the Bitcoin Cash difficulty will adjust and it will go up by a factor of 4!

At that point, most miners will switch back to Bitcoin, where the profit will be higher, and Bitcoin Cash will be back to multi-hour blocks for a while.

So, if you want to do any Bitcoin Cash transactions, you had better do them now.

Chinacoin, subsidized by the Chinese government and controlled by one company doesn't agree with anything, bitcoin needs to stay decentralized, only this way it will prevail.

Bitcoin Cash isn't compatible with the Bitcoin genesis block because it's a hard fork. I don't see how this is different than other altcoins which have "longer chains" at much lower difficulty. It's very easy to mine BCH blocks, compared to BTC.

Well bitcoin is too long too but bitcoin cash is getting attention to lots of people and I think this caused those to make lots of transaction and start mining BCC.

This can be considered as a free money that it's very easy to redeem and very easy to spend and increase the total amount of money in savings.

The fact that most users still use cash and translate at the same time Bitcoin, the same will be the fate of expecting a double. I'm interested in another question today, and this concerns the fact that this fall is expected by another split. I do not know what to expect in this situation.

I think the frenzy is because mining that specific cryptocurrency is very profitable at the moment, All the supposed hype is going to die down once miners realises that mining the said currency is unprofitable anymore. I am perfectly sure that people are being paid to hype the currency at this forum and it seems they are being paid very considering what they are touting.

The reason this altcoin trades so high compared to other altcoins is exactly this hope for it becoming bitcoin one day. It's name including the word bitcoin is giving it +50% value by itself. Buy now and watch it go down once the hopes of it getting more acceptance than the real BTC die  ;)

The numbers of shills is increasing, some motherfucker is spending some serious cash, if you take them by their ass they'll ask for more, this is the kind of people they are. No one even asks if it's Bitcoin then what will happen to BCC, AFAIK we can't have a coin with two names/tickers.

I agree you, despite the fact of how much I love bitcoin, it's not what satoshi wanted to be and I wanted also. It's used for drugs and for black jobs, people don't use bitcoin as an one way of escape, they use it for money laundering and etc. Only goos it has now is it's price, on another hand transaction confirmation times and fees really sucks and aren't fair, also miners want to get much btc from btc users.
Still don't have hope of new bitcoin alt. Because everything new is good and crypto isn't new at this time, so it won't be good.

Bitcoin cash might be the best competitor to BTC right now.  I think it still has possibility to become the dominant coin.

Seems doubtful, but I always notice that the consensus opinion is usually wrong in markets. When everyone expects one outcome, the opposite often happens. So I do worry a bit that Bitcoin Cash may blow away everyone's expectations, since most people think it will fail. I think there is a small possibility that it could become the "real" bitcoin.

As for the "longest chain" talk... that's easy when the difficulty dropped so much initially.

that's cute, no. because the criteria for comparing chains is the valid longest cumulative difficulty, not longest number of blocks.

In theory. But in practice I'm not sure people know how to use it. We shall find out this week if it helps or not.

This difference is only because the ratio hashrate/difficulties are differents in the two blockchains.
Bitcoin with a high difficulty and low hashrate for this difficulty level is late in his blockchain (1 block every 17 mn instead 10 mn).
Synchronisation and stabilisation are on the way for the nexts weeks.

Came here to say the same > the ratio hashrate/difficulties < one of the large pools pulled 1000PH/s onto bch chain, and basically rape mined the chain, this be fixed with better gravity well code, featured in ALL shitcoins since 2014, guess the BCH guys didn't know that OR they do and know major $$$ can be extracted if you control big PH/s.
