Title: BTC-E exchange rate
Post by: fc_flumpker on May 20, 2013, 08:10:25 PM
Why is it that BTC-E's exchange rate BTC/USD is consistently lower than Mt.Gox and VirCurEx?  As of this posting, BTC-e is 113.71, Mt.Gox is 122.50, VirCurEx is 118.71.

Try getting money into BTC-e and you will soon see the reason.  They are supposed to re-enable OKPay deposit in the next day or two (according to this post: https://btc-e.com/news/153 ) so you should see prices becoming more even.

Normally, lower price implies lower demand from local people given that it is harder for foreigner to deposit money in.

Isn't it interesting the most active exchange located in Japan?
