Title: MASS Smart phones
Post by: stugots2 on August 23, 2017, 12:50:53 PM
Hey guys and Gals.

This is my first post here (Long Time Lurker tho)

I just ran into a MASSIVE MASSIVE LOT of Smart phones of all types. S5's, S6's, S7's, Iphone 5,6,7 etc.

As a dropshipper / Wholesaler this is not uncommon BUT as a miner I wonder if there is something I can do with THIS many phones??

1. Which ALT would you all suggest?

2. Is it even worth it?

3. what is the current profit you guess on the ALT you choose?

Thanks in advance, figured I'd come to the experts rather then guess or google it, mixed crap when you do that.

Interesting post. Not sure if smartphone mining is profitable at all. It did try Minergate, but only for a day or 2, wasn't worth it (with S5).
It might good be on Nimiq (browser mining), when it comes out in December, but that's 3+ months away.

in my mind (and I could be wrong) but mobile phone charging is cheap power no??

I know Mobile mining is almost worthless, I just figured with SOOOOO many, maybe we would be in profit?

In my knowledge mining requires a computer with a high specification, some can use a smart phone but I think the result is not much. For more info you can read the thread here.

As far as i remember you can able to mine on using minergate thru mobile but i would say you would really bust all those phones you do have and if you would able to  mine it wont really be worth it at all and instead of thinking of this thing better to resell those phones you do have and buy some GPU or even buy an Asic miner for mining bitcoin. Since you are talking on altcoin then GPU would be suggested.

Good post. I suggest you to see the cryptocurrency and decide for yourself wich is the best coin for you, but i suggest ETH or bitgold.

I'm seeing like 10 - 15 Hash per phone (few are more)

that does not really amount to much but say at 200 phones..............

For less than 5 to $10 a month, you can put together an e-commerce site they have it hosted. Can probably do it for about $2 a month. Most of that stuff can be a little bit complicated, but not too hard. If you want to introduce Bitcoin into the mix, that could be a little tricky.

Basically most of the e-commerce software is fully prepared to handle an inventory, shipping, and everything else based on a preset bit of code for companies like PayPal and other credit card processors. But introducing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency makes it a little bit more complicated because the Json response is not saying that it is a 100% confirm transaction.

Mobile mining is a cool idea. What can smart phone can do in terms of processing power, not much. Maybe it is better to sell those phones and buy yourself some GPUs and mine some altcoins.

I suppose mobile phones consume less energy but using like 500 phones isnt that low energy. So its better to sell all those phones before their hardware gets cheaper and cheaper.
