Title: Ripple Smart Contracts - are they coming?
Post by: BenchCoinToken on August 23, 2017, 05:31:32 PM
Are smart contracts coming to Ripple?  I know they discontinued Codius but I have seen some ramblings they are getting close.  Seems they have gained a lot of traction with the banks and interoperability and it seems like a logical next step.

Saw this Credit Suisse report referenced which shows an image with Ripple/Contract capability: https://www.finextra.com/finextra-downloads/newsdocs/document-1063851711.pdf

If you are talking about figure 49 in page 42; I do not understand that as smart contracts in Ripple. Maybe some one who knows more can explain this but it shows an example in that figur in my humble opinion. Can you please explain a bit more?

I wish I could but your guess is as good as mine.  I also took that from someone else with the same question and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information.  It seems inevitable they would develop Smart Contract technology but it would help if someone from Ripple would clarify.

I guess sooner or later there basically won't be platforms and even coins NOT offering also smart contracts. So the answer is YES :)

I have long been interested and continue to monitor this coin, I think this is good news for the development of ripple. And this is great for developers, so they have more choices in platforming. I'm sure when a smart contract happens then there will be more people who will be interested in ripple.

This is me one news I see, there are banks that use ripple.

One of the biggest banks in Thailand is adopting it!

Interested to see this banker coin will try to release the smart contract. But i believe it that was still a speculation. But the coin just massively adopted by the big bankers in some countries. I think that the smartcontract will not come in this time.

not just for development of ripple but its good for the coins itself in market because if there is any of good news like this, then it will give a good impact for the price. and we know that ripple is increase for the price yesterday although now the price is back the base price again.  but I am sure in future, the price will be increase significant and I still holding this coins for future.

Better to keep an eye from these one as we knew that there's a good possibility that some whales will ride with this one and will hype xrp value we ain't sure if this can happen or if the dev behind is really working on this but just in case you are a risk taker better to accumulate ripple and wait for that huge jumped.

Is this the reason why Ripple price pumped yesterday? It has been a long long time I see Ripple going up. If Ripple implement smart contracts, it is good news for the bag holders

Maybe they are coming but that is not our interest, they will use it in their operations, this is not a platform we can use like eth.
