Title: Forum: reading via email
Post by: mndrix on December 06, 2010, 08:02:39 PM
Is it possible to receive email each time a message is posted to the forum?

In my profile, under Notifications and Email, it suggests that I can click the "notify" button in various places on the forum to receive email notifications about new posts.  Unfortunately, I don't see a "notify" button anywhere.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

This forum doesn't support email notifications.

It might be worth removing language on the site about notifications, just in case others were looking as I was.

It looks like the forum's RSS support is decent, so I'll try monitoring it with a feed reader.

Thanks for the info.

Could I ask why this forum does not support email notifications?  Is this something that the mods would be willing to turn on?  I would even consider paying you a few btc to do it ;).

For others looking to do the same thing.  I ended up using rss2email (http://www.allthingsrss.com/rss2email/).  This forum's RSS feed only includes the first couple paragraphs of each post, but I've found it enough content to know which posts I want to read directly on the forum and which can be muted.
