I guess if mobile cards suck anyway I guess its not really worth the extra $100 for the 8970 compares to the model with the 7970...as far as mining goes anyway... ;)

Also, the older cards were called the "Radeon 9000" or the "Radeon 9800 Pro (http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9800/radeon9800pro/compare.html)". The new ones are called the "Radeon HD 7850" or the "Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition (http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7970ghz/Pages/radeon-7970GHz.aspx)". See the difference?
