Title: Transaction confirmation time .... help
Post by: daworm06 on August 25, 2017, 12:24:52 AM
I paid the minimum fee. 0 confirmations but in memory pool. It's been a day and a half since I sent one payment and 2 in a half days since I sent the other. This problem had gotten better a couple weeks ago. Now it's back to this. Is everyone having that problem?  I meant to post this in technical discussion but goofed. I can't move it

You said you paid the "minimum" fee.
Minimum according to what? Your wallet recommendation, some website, what?
Post the tx or let us know how much you have paid in satoshis/byte so we can have an opinion on it.

I paid only the required fee 0.00001000 per kb through the custom setting in my wallet.

Pushing the hash back into the network is something is pretty easy to do takes a couple of steps and most people could do with nothing more than online services. As a side note all these services are free.

I had a similar issue when paying close to the minimum fee according to blockchain.info. There recommend fee was about double the minimum fee. I went with slightly over the minimum and it took probably a day and a half to confirm the transaction. I don't know if this is typical or not but it seems to be normal for me these days.

Try using accelerator services to accelerate your transaction and then use that particular service for a day or two to see transaction getting confirmed. That is the problem for transaction now so I recommend that next time you wont use minimum fee if you want your transaction to be confirmed fast. If accelerator services wont do, the only thing you can do is to wait for it to be confirmed. Like you OP everyone is having the same problem so they pay higher fees than usual.

Transaction id will help a lot in analyzing your problem. At least post that so we can confirm how much you paid for tx fees and maybe someone can help you push your transaction. This will be just a rant if you do not post that.

Well there must be something wrong with the mempool since it prioritize other transactions other than yours. This is a rare case since even I pays the minimum fee and the transaction was processed two to 4 days max only. But in your case it was weeks already and your transaction was not yet confirmed. But as long as it appears on the blockchain it has still the chance to be confirmed you just need to wait for now.

OP was not online, just for one hour after the post, since then there's no login from OP. We can now only wait for the transaction ID, if OP will be back and will share it with us.
As long as the difficulty does not change much on BTC and BCH, ~90% of miners will mine BTC chain, so most of the tranactions will get confirmed sooner (and not later like weeks before). But as long as BTC rises the difficulty, transactions with such a low fee will be waiting for weeks again in mempool.

without seeing the transaction it is impossible for anyone to give you any proper answer. there are many reasons for a transaction to not be confirmed. it is not just the lower fees.

for all i know you either spent an unconfirmed transaction that will never confirm or you made some non-standard transaction that will never confirm.

It may take a while to confirm. I've seen transactions confirming after five days or thereabouts. You need to be patient. Worse case scenario and it reverts back to your account after a very long delay.

Nowadays, people are making many transactions in bitcoins and due to this the load on miners and exchanges has also increased. If someone really wants an immediate transaction, he will have to pay some extra amount for this. However, I heard things have gone better now.

Bitcoin is not the best method to transfer funds at the moment, unfortunately. Fee's are kinda expensive so if you send a low free tx, its gonna take a while before it gets confirmed and properly transfered.

I think by now your transaction would be confirmed, but anyone reading this in the future know that if you sent a fee, even a low one as long as it is over 5 satoshis/byte it is likely to clean within 24 hours. However, if the network is congested or busy it could take longer, but do not panic. :P

Unless you want to use a service to push the transaction through a second time where you want to do it yourself you're pretty much going to have to wait. You or anybody else can for no additional charge wish that same transaction has right back into the network it can't hurt anything. It's either going to be there or it's not
