Hopefully it's just a server problem.

The exchange appears to be back online now. I don't have any funds to test order execution, but pages are loading fine and people in the trollbox are active. Seems to be a false alarm. I don't think a few hours of downtime is out of the ordinary for Nova Exchange.

They also recently removed free votes. Now 1 vote cost 10 NPOINT (about 0.0017 BTC or $7).
This exchange was a good opportunity to make a cheap and fast listing. But now it has no advantages over other exchanges.

you are too fast at jumping into conclusions about exchanges. and for what? just because you were unable to reach the website once? and your first thought is that it is either hacked or scam!

by the way, the site has been up all day, i made a couple of trades there today and made some small deposits of some altcoins that are only available there.

Few hours down means a hack? There hasn't been any official news too but most exchanges go through server load issues. They don't update their twitter account for days and I can't even see any updates about new coins being added or delisted. However, the withdrawals only are processed soon and now the site also is working fine.

I also have account there and make some trades since some coins are listed only on this exchange.
But you know, it's still not possible to deposit and withdraw ETH (and ETH tokens) on this exchange. Maintenance work lasts for a week.

Nova is new and they are doing some good work just few hours down does not mean its hacked some peoples too quick to respond things like this they are working on Eth Tokens hope this will fix in near future and they will end this maintenance which is going for week some exchanges taking months for these type maintenance

I don't think they are new, they are more than 1 year old. I haven't done much trading there but site looks completely working right now. Also they are active in their social media accounts so I don't think they are going to scam or run away in near future. Trading volume is also high so they might be earning good money out of trading fee so there is no any visible reason for them to turn into scam.

This has got nothing to do with being a scam. If anything, this will keep fewer of those nonsense altcoins out of sight. Then again, any coin that has to pay to be listed probably has little substantial product to rely on. Saying this with all due respect. Exchanges like nova have good use and can be a launch pad to new projects with limited funding. I have only used it once to get a coin I wanted end of last year but it's a popular one with the folks over at Bitcoingarden. The more exchanges, the merrier, I say. But can we make the push for decentralised ones please?

well sometimes these altcoins are a pain in the ass, specially when their wallets are designed horribly like ETH wallet and are full of bugs. and that takes a long time to sort out and secure.
but that still doesn't mean they are hacked or scams!
i am not defending novaexchange here though, i am just saying jumping to conclusions like this is not right!

I never claimed that they are scam or hacked. Just complained about technical failures and listing price increase.

Exchange is back online but again, without any sort of warning.

If the admin was planning on a maintennance then they sould have notified all users. The users are the people that are giving the admin a stable stream of income, and not telling them what is going to happen with their funds in the few hours is just not good customer service.

We still don't know(or at least, it's not stated anywhere on their twitter account) what exactly happened. I hate it when the admin isn't bothered to post any sort of updates about his project even when it's down.

You are right they are now doing business tactics as free voting ends because many scam coins was going with very small amount and gaining very good profit from investors now they have to pay some high fees for this which is pain in ass technical failures happen to many exchanges and sites its no new they done this very quickly

One more negative point about their support.

Preamble:

There is one ETH token which called Timereum [TME] (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012475.0). This token was listed on Novaexchange on August 13, 2017.

https://preview.ibb.co/gNhgwk/btc_tme.png (https://ibb.co/gaPuGk)

https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_TME/

Due to problems in the TME code, this coin trades were cancelled (https://novaexchange.com/news/) by Nova admins on August 19, 2017. And they said, that this token will be delisted.
Pay attention to the volume of trading this coin. This coin traded only several days, but every day the trading volume was several bitcoins.

On Aug 21 Novaexchange had hardware failure, so admins disabled ETH and ETH tokens withdraws. Now ETH no longer in maintenance, but ERC20 tokens still in maintenance.
So a lot of old TME tokens (about 3 000 000 (https://etherscan.io/token/0xee22430595ae400a30ffba37883363fbf293e24e?a=0x8bb1597ab90b1c2d6ba1b6ce0f7abc8b83383d21)) now locked on this exchange.

Main part:

Timereum community is very active, and developer spends a lot of time in the further development of this coin. In the near future, a new version of the token will be launched and the old tokens will be swaped.
Since a lot of TME tokens still locked on this exchange, one of the users sends email to support about TME withdraw.
And he got the next answer:

Quote
"Hi there.

Thank you for contacting us. TME has been very unstable as a coin and the transactions were taking a lot of time. The coin has no supporters and its volume hasn't overcome 0.2 BTC for more than three (3) weeks.

Regards,
NovaExchange support team

So, what we see. Support just lied twice:
1) TME has supporters. There a lot of traders, theirs orders are still opened (http://preview.ibb.co/d5fWU5/tme_orders.png). Dev is very active, and he communicated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012475.msg21067949#msg21067949) with their support.
2) Trade volume of this coin was one of the highest on this Exchange. And it was just two weeks ago, before delisting.

Postscriptum

There is another weird message from Novaexchange support:

I apologize, I just could not believe it. But now, when I sent a letter on the issue of withdrawal another ERC20 token, I received an even more absurd answer from them!

https://preview.ibb.co/cVjPhQ/image.png (https://ibb.co/e2Lx2Q)

Support complained that there are no miners in the ETH network.

What's up with this message that they aren't accepting new registrations?  Something about maintenance is the message that I received when I tried to sign up today, never used that exchange before.  Anyone else have that issue?

I haven't used them before but the reputation people seem to have of them isn't that good, and I guess I can see why.  Up until now I've only used the big major exchanges but if you want to get some of the lesser coins before they blow up you have to deal with these smaller exchange headaches. sigh

If NOVA exchange deliberately ignore customer's withdraw limit request, and hold your bitcoins. Do you still think they are good exchange? I haven't get any feedback from them until now.

Read my story and them make your conclusion by yourself.
