DDoSing everything that's inconvenient to Wikileaks won't help any cause.

Also, the account hasn't been "frozen" for political reasons. The bank offers accounts to people living in Switzerland, Assange fraudulently claimed to live there, they realised he was lying and legitimately closed the account. They are willing to transfer the money somewhere else but they haven't been able to contact him yet.

I agree.

Can you post the source of this information? Thanks. :)

Quote
PostFinance spokesman Alex Josty declined to say whether there was money in the Swiss account, but he underlined that it would belong to the Australian.

"He would have a right to that money and we would ask him where to transfer it," Mr Josty said.

[...]

"Assange cannot provide proof of residence in Switzerland and thus does not meet the criteria for a customer relationship with PostFinance."

[...]

PostFinance said accounts are normally granted to Swiss residents or foreigners from areas nearby.

OK, that said, isn't it just all just a peachy and convenient coincidence that his bank pulled the plug on him now?

The article I linked explains that too.

Despite Swiss banking secrecy, under money-laundering laws and due diligence requirements for banks, clients must give their real domicile.

PostFinance has said the checks were made because of Mr Assange's growing media exposure, making him a high-profile client under due diligence requirements.

I have an internet attention span about as long as this sentence. Who needs to read articles when headlines will do? :)
