Title: [POLL] The world's first ICO for gTLD - which domain?
Post by: hidecoin2016 on August 25, 2017, 07:54:05 PM
Hello!
I would like to create ICO for new top-level domain:
.wallet,
.crypto,
.chain or
.blocks.

All these domains are not busy:
http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db (http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db)
So please help to determine which domain is the best.
Also I would know how many Ether are you ready to spend to tokens to reserve domain name for you?
I think about 10 Ether/domain during ICO - premium registration time. How do YOU think?
In total, I need 5000 Ether.
Please write your opinion. It is very important!
Maybe you want other top-level domain? :)

Do you know about premium registration (first month of sale, for example)?

If one domain costs 0.1 Ether, it will needed to sell 50000 domains to finish ICO...

Reduce the price to 1 eth per domain. For the domain of two characters 10 eth.

Hm, ok. Then so:
2 chars - 10 eth
3 chars - 5 eth
other - 1 eth

You want to own a gTLD and want people to pay for it?

Apply for a business loan, if you actually have a business plan...

A gTLD can take a few years to approve and can cost a couple $million, you just want to pass the risk around while you own the business.

Can be good to have .wallet if you impose strict rules. This gives use some extra security.

PS
10 eth for 2 letter name seems steep to me.

Do you want to say that all ICOs at this forum is fair and not scam?
I think not.
This project is fair.
It is risky, but fair!

I was not commenting on all ICOs, I was commenting on this particular ICO, the guy wants to own a gTLD but people has to pay it without any guarantee of ever seeing anything.

What is he risking?

Plus there are a shit load of gTLDs now, there's not much appeal in yet another one.
