I'm curious where and why people wouldn't travel to a country. Personal dislike, econimic reasons, political etc. North Korea goes without saying  ::)

It really depends on how you travel. I wouldn’t say no to any trips in general but I wouldn’t go to country facing war as a tourist, it is not what they need and it’s putting yourself in a dangerous position.
I advocate for countries that are not necessarily well seen by the media. Discovering the world by yourself its amazing!

Any country that is dangerous, war zones or even large areas with high criminality rates are avoidable. For example cities in South Africa and Brazil seem very dangerous looking at the stats.

I wouldn't travel to India or Africa...it's too dangerous I think

am i allowed to say i don't really want to go to any third world shit holes? i'd rather hang around in places on a similar economic footing to the one i live in. that might make me blinkered. i don't really care.

Of course a place with alot of fighting and a dangerous place to travel like there's a flood or a volcano erupting something dangerous in a place i would not go

There're a few countries that spring to mind.

Besides those war-torn countries, some of these with the highest homicide rates including El Salvador, Honduras, Venezuela, Jamaica, South Africa, Guatemala etc. .. These are the countries where I will definitely think twice before going, based on their current safety situation.

Of course North Korea and Iraq, I feel like I'm gonna die going there, but I wanna discover how things would likely be I go there.

I won't travel to those countries that has an existing war. Duh?! That's dangerous.

I wouldn't travel to Chernobyl. I don't want my healthy cells irradiated with radiation from that tragic explosion before. It's creepy to see the abandoned cities and buildings there. Another one I don't to travel to is the villages where the holocaust occured. It creeps me out seeing graves of past Jews who died under thr reign of Hitler.

I would never go to Somalia and North Korea. :P

1.Caracas, Venezuela

2.Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

Man i never gonna travel to Pakistan by mistake...i am from India and many people from there gone there by mistake and never returned :-[

Russia I will love to visit

I would not travel to Venezuela currently with all of the violence if you go to a poor area (which is most areas). I also would not go to any country where there is a war, as there will be too much chaos.

When I have enough money I really like to travel the whole world and I will start that journey with my favorite county Australia. I love this country and its my dreams to visit this country and I will sure go there.

The first 3 are on the world's most dangerous countries as of 2017. So I would definitely not even think of going to these places. North Korea is a dead zone for anyone who would even consider getting in. Many nations have their eyes on this country due to all the nuke news. I wouldn't want to be obliterated with NK once the super powers press "that" button.  ;)

I would never have gone to Africa and India, to the Amazon jungle. I do not like places where there can be any danger to life. I prefer comfortable places where I serve breakfast and drinks in the room.

At this point I would love to go to some place like Iran or India but to be honest I don't think I would feel safe there. There is too many negative things I have heard on the news or from friends that make me turn away from these places. If I feel that things ever change there I would very much love to go but not yet at least.

Probably Russia. Not much that takes my interest and the rumors that go around...

Yup! North Korea is out of my to go list. Iraq is also out of it. But if i were to choose, then India. I really like the people, i love the food, i love the country too but what I don't like is traffic. Solely on that, I don't want to go there. Maybe not yhe cities

There's a lot of misinformation out there. Of course some areas are more risky than others, but really when you get down to it we're all human. So I'd go anywhere.

True story: our technical director cycled from Scotland to New Zealand a few years ago, working as he went. Extreme remote working! I have a photograph of him deploying a website for Virgin whilst sat on top of a mountain just outside of Tehran in Northern Iran. Proof, if you needed it, that the world is much safer and accommodating place than the news cycle would have you believe.

I wouldn't go to any dangerous country. Also don't like extreme hot weather so I wouldn't go to arabic countries and africa.

Well, I don't want to travel to a place where it would remind me of my own country. A deal breaker for me is traffic. If there is almost heavy traffic all day and night so new york, mumbai places like that would be out. I also don't like places that's too hot or too cold to walk.

To the place where you would not survive with proper equipment's or training like in the amazon, the dessert, a place where war is a natural thing. Basically what you need there is proper training and instinct.

North Korea was going to be my pick, but since you said it goes without saying. Of course I have nothing against the middle East, but countries that have Isis member. And I don't think I would go to Dubai, after reading story, I believe woman gets molested or something, she's not from there, from the USA, but then she's the one that has to go to jail.

Edit: Just realized that today I had a similar conversation with a girl. She said that she wanted to go to Korea, and I asked her witch one. She said obviously South Korea.

At the moment, North Korea is not on top of my list, neither Syria. Apart of that, I'm quite open minded and would go pretty much everywhere.

will not travel to Russia because it is characterized by a very cold weather and not sure I am sensitive from the cold and this is the main reason why I will not travel to this country and the rest of the temperate countries visit normal

if the country is in conflict or crisis, of course, tourists will not come. how they will enjoy the holidays, if the security is not guaranteed. and if we know, few tourists come to the country, signaling the economy will decline.

I really dont wanna travel to sahara dessert, its so hot there many people died trying to cross that dessert, and its hard to find water overthere according to news.

I just wouldn't travel to any countries with extremely high crime rates or political instability. I wouldn't really mind going to a less wealthy country because when you go to the touristic places they're most likely to have high luxuries. (so basically no Middle africa is what im trying to say)

I would like to travel to many different parts of the world but if you ask me where wouldn't I travel, its a really tough question because for me I would like to visit any places to see and experience new stuff but I don't think I will visit places full of insects and mosquitoes because I cannot stand the itchiness and it will make my travel a bad one.

I think North Korea is on top of most peoples list.

I am not going to go into a conflict country because I still want to live, I would rather go to a place where it is not yet known by the media, it would be great to seek my own adventure in my own way

I always dreamt of visiting Mexico, but recently I read a lot of stories about local drug dealers and people' murders. I couldn't even imagine that this sunny country is so dangerous.

Florida.  No reason needed really.  But last time I had to travel there I saw on the news where a couple of homeless guys were found eating other homeless peoples faces off.  They were literally naked homeless zombies walking about and no one batted an eye. 
Never again and I've served in the US Army.    8)

Nothing too hot and humid at the same time, nothing poorly developed and highly religious.

I wouldnt travel to the middle east. Why? Simply because of the risk of terror. Otherwise I would love to go there - so much history to see.

Afghanistan or war zone, nothing to gain by going in there unless you are humanitarian activist.

I wouldn't travel to Asia. Cause you gotta do lots of vaccinations before you go to India for example. And also there's a completely different structure of water and of lots of other products

I've got numerous friends who keep going to unsafe places and I just don't get why they'd do that. Why take any chances when your life could be at stake?

N. Korea must be the worst place to visit

There are places where bombs could explode without any notice. I don't think NK is as unsafe as some other places.

   I would not travel to Singapore, because it seems to be county which has very cruel laws. I am not even speaking about fees for spitting at floor or smoking in wrong place. I speak about flogging they still use to punish "outlaws", I dont know their laws exactly, but as I know a person may be flogged for prostitution or being drunk while driving and worse of all - someone may watch a punishment for money :) This is.. I dont even have words for that, I would call it middle age law. Besides a person can get full life sentance for smoking joint, how do you like it?

I would probably avoid North Korea right now, but that might change in the future.

There is no such place that I would not want to travel to. I would love to travel the world and learn new things about the places and enjoy the time with unknow people.., 8)

I will not travel in a very deserted place because you dont know what will harm you there and no one or civilation is very far from you which can lead to death

African is a beautiful place to be in. I am from Africa and I am telling you, it's a nice place to experience and explore. Forget about what the western media normally feed you with.

I will not travel to Afghanistan. That is one place that I have always dreaded to think about and I somehow cannot make up mind to travel that place.

Given the extreme environment I'd actually find Antarctica more interesting than traveling from one western city to any other. Might have to put that on my list.

I would never go the arctics as i can bear cold and snowfalls.

i would not travel to papua island. because there are many tribal wars. there is a strong cultural custom, customary war many happening there. customary war happened because misunderstanding among the citizens. every battle there takes a lot of casualties, both local and immigrant. if there is a tribal war there are immigrant residents should not leave the house. it is urged to prevent casualties. because there the apparatus is less so feared by the local community.

Well, i'd say there are several types of places where I wouldn't travel:
1. Countries or areas in state of war or those where different kinds of civil disturbances take place
2. Totalitarian states such as North Korea
3. Places with high health risks such as diseases, fauna or atmospheric hazards
4. Dangerous criminal areas

Africa

I am from African, And African is a wonderful place to travel to. Forget about what you see in the media or read in the media. They always paint Africa black in western media because African's are not in control of their media. They never show good sides or things about African. Africa is a wonderful place to be.

Travelling to Afghanistan is something that I’d avoid. I had read about it in books.

Kuwait is one place I will not want to visit as it has only oil and thats it.

The warring country is feared by everyone, especially me. not just the war I feared, but the country with the biggest murders, the countries that allow drugs and countries that freely allow weapons.

I do not travel in countries where I have worried about security, I am postponing the countries that will actually be. I never go to countries with robbery and extortion, and my passport and wallet were previously played in the hotel room. And I made that decision.

I want to go to Singapore where there is economic development, where civilized society. I wished to go there once. Hope will have a chance for me.

I hope to go to "Nugini" papua because its  exotic, nature and also has an interesting culture. "Nugini" papua is different from Bali, in bali already soiled some resorts. While in "Nugini" papua is still completely natural, and until now I still have not been going to "Nugini" papua because of my limited finance. I wish one day, I'll be there with family.

of course I would not travel to a war-torn country or there are still disputes like israel, suriah, america, and I would not travel to a country where natural disasters are frequent

for sure, I am a bit afraid of traveling to Africa. There, people are a bit wild, also many dangerous animals.
Very hot, low infrastructure, low facilities, I will certainly not travel there. But it is only my opinion and impression, maybe it is wrong.

I like how people write their scares with zero knowledge of these countries. 90% opinions are made on reading mass-media news outlets. This is beautiful.

There is no place that I wouldn't want to travel to...you know why is because I want to travel to everywhere round the world because I love to travel to know every culture and tradition,meet new people make new friends cause that is the essence of life.

I guess any countries engaged in Warfare on their own soil. I don't much like the idea of putting myself in that situation. otherwise any worldwide travel is good and beneficial to life experience.

well, the point to which I traveled to Korea because that is there kimchi dishes that I like the most.

For my safety reasons I wouldn't go to the country that has war or your not safe. Because obviously it's not advisable to go there. It's better to be safe than saying sorry.
