Title: Best iOS Ethereum and Bitcoin wallet?
Post by: Thomas3520 on August 26, 2017, 11:20:24 AM
Hi, I'm searching for the best iOS Bitcoin and iOS Ethereum wallet! :D

I've found a few: EthWallet, Coinsyde, Bitcoin.com, Bitpay...

Features, that the wallet should have:

✔️Private key/mnemonic/passphrase/seed should NEVER leave the device!
✔️No registration
✔️To be able to create multiple addresses (very important for me!)
✔️2FA/Pin option (Optional: Would improve security...)
✔️multi signature wallet (Optional: Would improve security...)

Ok, let us know your suggestions!

PS: Please don't suggest a hardware wallet! ;)

Best iOS bitcoin wallet is breadwallet. It's a "golden standard". Beside that they are updating it soon to new version.
Easy to use, secure and as I mentioned before waiting for huge update soon.

As for ethereum there is not such good wallet as breadwallet. Some people use Jaxx but it is not so good as source code is closed...
hope this helps
Good luck

Thanks for the message! I really like Jaxx, and the Breadwallet too, but they both don't allow you to create multiple addresses...

Ok, I think, I will go with Copay for Bitcoins, but do you have another suggestion for Ethereum?

And for Ethereum?
I know 3 pretty good wallets for iOS.

imToken - The best one for Ethereum IMO.
Jaxx - an okay alternative. Not my favorite, but it supports other coins other than ETH.
Ethers Wallet - never used. found in a reddit thread some time ago.

1. This wallet crashes, when you generate an address. >:(
2. A good wallet, but doesn't allow to create multiple addresses. :(
3. This one too... :-\

I think, I have to search a bit more...

ImToken seems to work pretty well with all erc20 tokens, nice and easy to use.

BTCC also released a Bitcoin Wallet: Mobi, search for it on the app store.
Yeah, I'm using an iPad, and not every wallet is optimized for it...

And the Mobi wallet doesn't look very save to me: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/mobi/

I have a question about HD wallets: I've heard, that the addresses change, when you receive coins? I'm using Jaxx. So does that mean, when I receive like one transaction worth 10$ to my Bitcoin/Ethereum wallet, then the Bitcoin/Ethereum address changes in my Jaxx interface?

But I will still get the coins, that are sent to the old addresses.

Am I wrong with anything?
