Decent read.  I can see Bitcoin more or less just being it's own monetary system going alongside the dollar for quite a while, and yeah there is that possible all electricity in the world goes out situation, which is why a physical existence of something will always be necessary.

I actually have some relevant credentials: here (http://jewishmayhem.com/wp-content/gallery/009-gifs/1.gif).

The best part about this blog is 1 million visitors per month and 50,000,000 since 2007.

Bitcoin does not need to die even with an extended power outage (talk about a doomsday scenario!). With bitcoin phone apps or dedicated wireless bitcoin gadgets (with proximity auto-sync), the bitcoin network might still be able to propagate its connections, albeit at an extremely slow rate.

He starts out repeating the same confusion in the dailytech article he links.  They both mix up the 6-13 theft of allinvain's wallet and the 6-19 breach of MtGox.  Two totally different, unrelated security breaches.

Well regardless of the mix-up, at least he's willing to give Bitcoins.
