Good price, seems like a hard thing to mess up, too. And when I hook them up I can just stick it into a regular x16 or x1 slot and it will work as expected? Not as cheap as those though. Only US shipping 15$ +shipping, but I would discount for orders of more than 5 cables. I will post a link once I get an eBay listing up. Willing to take BTC/Paypal and ship same day.

And if you're lucky enough for them all to work, then you can always use it to add another card or build another rig down the road.

The mod on forum doesn't look too difficult and what I spent in total is less than two units from hashratestore.com. I'm still skeptical whether power is necessary as the three cards I have on the motherboard are working swell and not burning out anything as is. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
